Sarath Lokitas’ family has controlled the municipality of Virudhunagar district for over 40 years. Thus, the ruling party of the state plans to take over the Virudhunagar municipality, ending the respect and political influence of their family. In the meantime Vani Bhojan is married off as the second wife of Sarath Lokitas’ son Bhawan, the m unicipal president. Pawan mysteriously dies a few months after marriage, Vani Bhojan gets political ambitions. A lthough her husband has not openly revealed his political ambitions to the family, he plans to take over the post held by his husband. The story of ‘Sengalam’ web series vividly tells the change in the politics of Virudhunagar di strict due to that project and the problems caused by it.

Sengalam is a web series that reminds us of contemporary politics from top to bottom, making you wonder if su ch a web series has come in Tamil with politics as its focus. The beginning itself is overwhelming. A woman walks with a food gallows in Karuvelagankattu area, and a food gallows hangs around the neck of the accompanying d og. Three young men who had been hiding at one place to shout at the woman’s clan came out.As the three are r evealed to be the woman’s sons, the reason for their hiding unfolds in flashback scenes…For about forty years, t he Sarath Lokitsava family has been ruling the Virudhunagar municipality from generation to generation. Writt en and directed by S.R. Prabhakaran, his son Pawan, the sitting chairman, has turned the political field of who is brought to the place to die untimely in an accident into a bloodbath.
The second son, Prem Kumar, stands aside without any political interest as Sarath Lokitsawa sits in a wheelchair (?) unable to act, as he ponders who to replace his elder son, who died as chairman.But Lokitsava’s daughter Poo ja Vaidyanathan, who wants to occupy the place, starts moving the pieces silently.Contrary to what some people think that someone from a direct blood relation system should become the chairman, Pawan’s deceased wife Va ni Bhojan, with the help of her politically astute friend Shali Nivekas, took the oath of victory and became the ch airman.After this the story flies at rocket speed with sharp twists and turns. Finally season two ends with a cliffhanger. Not only season two, but given the contemporary politics, it can go on for as long as needed. The reason is that the plot of Sinhala is like that.
Since web series do not have the same censorship as movies, director Prabhakaran can be praised for using the intellectual freedom of web series to make Sinhala.If this story is made suitable for a movie, they have realized that there will be applause in many scenes and strong criticism in some scenes.Although the story is told in a li near manner, Biju Donbosco is to be commended for giving a clear cinematography so that the audience does n ot get confused.Vaan Bhojan has shown his full potential as he has got an unprecedented role even in a movie. S hali Nivegas’ role as her friend Nachiyar will remain forever in the mind of the audience.Not only those who play ed the main roles like Kalaiyarasan and Viji Chandrasekhar but also those who came in small roles like Bux and Vela Ramamurthy are remembered.
The reason why the millionaire Vani Bhojan’s father wants to marry off his daughter to the municipal chairman a s second wife should be strongly told in the film. But missing it is the most important flaw that shakes the found ation.Political wolves aspiring for the post of municipal council president…Brothers who are absconding after co mmitting 3 murders are challenging the police that they are going to commit 2 more murders..Who are they? Wh at is the relationship between the municipal council president seat and the murders they commit? Describes the brick series. Family Politics Having retained the post of Council President of Virudhunagar District Municipality for 40 years, Sivagnanam and his family. Their whole family like grandfather, father and son are doing politics fr om generation to generation.
In that constituency, even the ruling party MLA Vela Ramamurthy has the influence that the municipal council pr esident has. Thus, he decides to dissolve this political family somehow. After father Shivajnanam, his eldest son Rajamanickam is the municipal council chairman. He and Surya Kala (Vani Bhojan) get married.Lost life and de si re for office Raja Manickam and Surya Kala go to Kodaikanal Hill for their honeymoon when an accident occurs. In this, Raja Manickam dies and Suryakala survives. Everyone asks who will be the next municipal council presi d ent, Shivajnanam plans to get ‘sympathetic’ votes if his deceased son’s wife Surya stands in the election. His two children do not like this plan and they become angry with Surya Kala. Surya’s desire for office also takes hold lit tle by little. Knowing this, Shivajnanam buys ‘jaga’ little by little from his decision.
Who did he choose to stand as the chairman of Pundyal Municipal Council?Siblings who commit murder jointly Royer (Kaliyarasan), who has committed 3 murders along with his siblings in Virudhunagar district and is abscon ding with them, challenges the police officer who is determined to catch them and is about to commit 2 more mu rders. As said, they kill MLA Vela Ramamurthy and his BA (bucks). What is the relationship between these peop le and the murdered people? The rest of the story answers so many questions with very few twists.Notable early episodes The Chengalam series, from the first episode to the last episode, is shown as traveling through flashbac ks and the present, from “that day” to “today”. The story moves fast as the first four episodes travel through mar riage, death and murder.
The following episode shows the political gains, desire for office and the crimes committed for it. Thus, until the 6th episode, the brick goes at high speed without any speed limit. After Vani Bhojan’s political ambitions, if the st ory seems to be heating up, it is the opposite that leaves the fans reeling. The series has coded the politics of Tam ilNadu here and there, attracting fans.Vani Bhojan showed innovation..Vani Bhojan, who came from the small scr een to the silver screen, has been acting in soft female roles for so long. Through this series, he has shown innova tion in his choice of character, and he has not left behind in his performance. The series has many stars like Kalai yarasan, Vani Bhojan, Pawan, Sarath Lokithaswa, Viji Chandrasekhar. All are given equal screen space according to their roles. All of them have done their roles perfectly. Keep the twists satisfied..
This is the first such full-length political-thriller in Tamil. The director must be commended for bluntly stating ho w much power and position are intoxicating to those in Aaksi. Some of the twists in the story were unexpected and many were already expected, so it seems that the story could have some more interesting twists. By show i ng the politics of Tamil Nadu like the local politics in Virudhunagar district municipality, the mastery is growing in the minds of the fans, the director said.On the whole, if you look patiently, the Chengalam series brings to a close the political events that have taken place in our town in the last 30 years.
