We Are Water Foundation to Distribute Plumbing & Safety Tool Kit to 3500+ Plumbers
Chennai, November 06, 2020: To ensure the safety and wellbeing of the plumber community, We Are Water Foundation India (WAWFI) has undertaken an initiative to provide 3500+ safety and plumbing tool kits to the plumber workforce across the country. To kick-start the initiative, WAWFI in association with World Vision handed over the essential kits to 15 plumbers at the Roca Parryware Chennai Head office, today. The ceremony commenced in the presence of Mr. KE Ranganathan, Managing Trustee, WAWFI and Sony Thomas, Director, Resource Mobilization and Public Engagement, World Vision India.

Under this initiative, WAWFI emphasizes its commitment towards the safety and well-being of the plumber community. The kits will empower and facilitate the plumbers to stay safe and perform their tasks with modern equipment to offer seamless service. WAWFI will distribute safety and plumbing kits to 3,500+ plumbers across 27 Indian cities in 7 states. Apart from Chennai, other key cities for the initiative include Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Trichy, Kolkata, Faridabad, Cochin and Vizag etc.
Commenting on the initiative, Mr. KE Ranganathan, Managing Trustee, We Are Water Foundation India said, “The on-going pandemic has brought everyone together to contribute and work towards the benefit of the society at large in their individual capacity and we believe we should be at the forefront to help the most affected community in such difficult times. With an aim to help and empower the plumber community, we are pleased to start our initiative for the plumbing workforce in partnership with World Vision India to provide the equipment and gear for their safety. We are hopeful that this initiative will enable the plumber community to emerge stronger in such difficult times and offer uninterrupted service to customers and earn a livelihood with respect.”
The Safety Kit includes – 4 N95 masks and 1 face shield whereas the plumbing toolkit includes – an adjustable wrench, 6 in 1 screwdriver, Allan keys, pliers, and tester. In order to ensure the safety and well-being of every individual, WAWFI has implemented all the precautionary measures and are extending support to the workforce wherever needed. The foundation has been working extensively across various parts of the country to provide better sanitation and hygiene facilities.
