Walkaroo partners with IIM Kozhikode for Backwaters22

Chennai 7th, February, 2022: Walkaroo International Pvt Limited, one of India’s leading PU footwear brands in the country partnered with Backwaters 22, the Annual Management Fest of IIM Kozhikode to roll out a one-of-a-kind contest for B – School Students. Contextual case studies in the areas of Marketing and Operations Management were offered to the students with the goal of delivering creative and innovative solutions to real-life business scenarios encountered while building a successful brand like Walkaroo. With over 2000 teams for registration of these two events and the participation of over 10,000 students from the country’s top colleges, Backwaters 2022 was a huge success. The winners received an overall prize money of Rs.50,000.

Walkaroo were the Sponsors for 2 marquee events at Backwater’22 Kotler Sutra & Optimus in Backwater’22. Kotler Sutra, a marketing competition, had multiple rounds like Marketing Quiz & Social Media Marketing Cam paign. The final round of the event had the participants create a Video & post on Social Media for Brand Walkar oo with the Brand POV of “Be Restless”. Teams from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) , Delhi School of Management, Delhi Technological University, (DSM, DTU), Delhi and Indian Institute of Management (IIM Rohtak) were adjudged the first, second, and third prize respectively.

Optimus, a supply chain event included an online quiz, case round, and operation Simulation game. The final rou nd required participants to simulate the service level impact at various stock levels of Footwear and to come up with innovative ideas for Inventory strategy for fashion products like footwear. The first, second, and third pla ces were awarded to Teams from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai, IIM Ranchi, and National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai, respectively.
