Master R Praggnanandhaa, Class 10 of Velammal Main School, Mogappair Campus takes over the Online Title in the Polgar Challenge as a winner, winning a cash prize of $3000 with a round to spare in the Julius Baer Challen gers Chess Tour held online between 8th April, 2021 and 11th April, 2021. This stupendo us win qualifies Master Pragg to the next event in the elite Meltwater Champion Chess Tour to be held on 24th April, 2021.
Master D Gukesh, Class 9 of Velammal Vidyalaya, Mel Aynambakkam also bagged the third position in this tour nament bringing together these best young stars of Velammal. This Julius Baer Challengers Chess Tour gives yo ung stars a chance to take centre stage and the Polgar challenge is one of the four challenges in which each play er faces all the 19 other players once at a rapid chess.
