Movie Review :
Generally, suspense thriller films are always well-received by the fans. In particular, director Ilayaraja Kaliyaperumal has given the film a different content like a murder in a moving bus. One night, one bus, one murder, 25 passengers traveling in a bus, he has given the fans a very raw film that makes it impossible to guess what will happen next. The film is special in that it moves the story completely in suspense without a heroine and without songs. Similarly, Sibiraj has perfectly fit into a different story after a long time.
Sibiraj has given a stunning performance as a policeman who is garlanded for Sabarimala. He carries the entire story on his shoulders as a single person. The scenes where he investigates in different police outfits like a bandana on his forehead and a garland around his neck create great expectations. This film will be a big hit for him. The scenes of Gajaraj as a sub-inspector are an additional strength to the film. The acting of Jeevarav as a doctor, Murugadoss as an omni bus cleaner, and Dileepan, Udaya, Saravana Subbaiah, Sarabisha, and Niranjana is a strong point of the film. Thangadurai’s comedy here and there adds to the excitement of the story. Jai Karthik’s cinematography is a great strength of the screenplay. He gives us as much enjoyment as possible by giving us the right atmosphere in a bus. K.S. Sundaramoorthy’s background music makes us travel with the story.
The fact that the suspense film is given a gripping tone as One Night, One Bus, One Murder is commendable. In addition, the director’s ability to move the screenplay in a way that resembles a bus journey at night shows his talent. The cinematographer and music director have supported him. The fact that the film has no heroine and no songs is a big plus.
Although the story is different, the way it is presented is not new. The scenes and dialogues that are familiar from many suspense thriller films seem to be a minus. However, we can praise the director for keeping the audience glued to their seats for 2 hours.
