‘Sirithu Vaazha Vendum to release on ‘Puratchi Thalaivar’ MGR’s birthday.
‘Sirithu Vaazha Vendum starred ‘Puratchi Thalaivar’ MGR in dual roles and became a huge hit when it was releas ed in 1974. Directed by S.S. Balan, the file had Latha pair opposite MGR as the female lead. The film, which has be en digitalised using modern technology, is being prepared for release on January 17, commemorating the birth a nniversary of MGR.
Apart from MGR and Latha, the film also features MN Nambiar, Manohar, Thengai Srinivasan, Ishari Velan, SV Ramadoss, VS Raghavan, L. Kanchana and the songs are written by Vaali and Pulamaipitthan and the music is co mposed by ‘Mellisai Mannar’ M.S.Viswanathan.
Pulamaipitthan wrote the song that starts off as ‘Ulagam Ennum..’ and singers, Sheikh Salamat and DM Soundar arajan, rendered their voices to the song. The songs ‘Ennathil Nalamirundhal’ and ‘Ondre solvaan nandre seivaa n’ were chartbusters. ‘Ponmana semmalai punpada seidhathu yaaro’ is another song that received a huge respon se from the fans and audience.
‘Idhayam Pesugiradhu’ Maniyan, Vidvaan V. Laxman along with Udayam Productions produced the film that was directed by S.S. Vasan’s son S.S. Balan.
