Saint-Gobain India joins hands with the government of Tamil Nadu to support the fight against COVID-19 

~The company has committed to provide aid worth INR 4.5 Cr for oxygen generation plants, oxygen concentrators and other medical equipment~

 Tamil Nadu, 31st May 2021: As India is battling the 2nd wave of COVID-19, Saint-Gobain India – Glass Business joins the force to fight COVID-19 and extends its support to the government of Tamil Nadu. This will be through relief efforts in major districts of the State-Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Erode, and in the capital Chennai. The co mpany pledges a total of INR 4.5Cr to overcome the unprecedented coronavirus pandemic and to provide me dical care to those affected.

With the commitment to provide relief to affected people in the state, Saint-Gobain will provide essential oxy gen generation plants airfreighted from France, one for Government Medical College Hospital Omandurar, Che nnai costing INR 2.5 Cr and another plant costing INR 75 lakhs for IRT Hospital at Perundurai, Erode District.  The plant for Government Medical College Hospital, Omandurar Chennai will cater to around 250 beds at a ti me. These plants will be commissioned and operational by June 2021.

The company further commits to funding INR 1.25 crores for prov iding oxygen concentrators, flow meters, me dical kits, personal pr otective equipment (PPE) like masks, gloves, sanitizers, and other protective gear for fron tline healthcare workers, public healthc a re centers, and government hospitals in Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Erode districts and Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu.Through these measures Saint-Gobain India is committed to pr otecting the lives of local communities which is aligned to the organisation’s purpose of ‘Making the World A better home’ by ensuring safety and well-being.
