Remote Patient Monitoring units given to South India Medical Colleges
Chennai May 25, 2021: Health workers can now treat covid patients without getting infected; A Malayalee has turned out to be a role model by donating Remote Patient Monitoring units.
A Malayalee is helping the health care sector of the country amidst all the fears and anxieties prevailing regar ding the pandemic outbreak, by donating an ingenious equipment to various medical colleges in South India, which would help in saving the health workers, including the doctors and nurses from getting infected by the covid 19 virus.
A.V Anoop, the Managing Director of AVA Group and the former Chairman of World Malayalee Council donated the equipment, Staces, as a part of their corporate social responsibility. The product was made available at Om anthurar Medical College, Stanley Medical College and Kilpauk Medical College in Chennai, all three known for their impeccable service provided amidst the pandemic. 
The main challenge in coping up with the covid pandemic has al wa ys been the chances of the health workers ge tting infected by the disease. This particular equipment tackles this very challenge fac ed by the medical world.
Staces is a remote patient monitoring unit, an equipment that all ows the collection of all necessary medical de tails of the patient without actually maintaining any direct contact with the patient. It allows Doctors and Nur ses to know the five most important He alth conditions of a patient, including Heart rate, ECG and Respira tion, remotely from a smartphone or laptop. It also detects the lowering of oxygen content in the blood and also pro vides warnings in case of deteriorating he alth conditions of the patient.
The equipment was first launched in Omanthurar Medical College in South India and the functioning of the same was inaugurated by the State Health Secretary, J. Radhakrishnan. The two units of the equipment donated to Sta nley Medical College were handed over to the Dean of the College, Dr. P. Balaji by AVA Naturals PVT LTD.
The unit from AVA Cholayil Healthcare for Kilpauk Medical College was received by the Dean of the college, Dr. P. Vasanthamani.
