RASHTRIYA MILITARY SCHOOL TEAM ON A PLATINUM JUBILEE CYCLE RALLY ACROSS SOUTH INDIA
Rashtriya Military School, Bengaluru sees Platinum Jubilee this year. As a mark of the 75 year journey of the sch ool, a batch of 13, including five cadets from the school is on a Cycle Rally across the major landmarks of South India. The cycle rally is meant to highlight the importance of armed forces to the nation and to spread awareness of the recent decision of the government to admit girls in military schools. Rally also intends to carry the stories of freedom struggle to the masses on the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The rally from Tirupati arrived at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai yesterday. At the OTA, the school team was received by the senior off icials and an orientation program was arranged on the various aspects of training at the Academy.
It had been a great morale booster for the cadets and would be a good encouragement for them to join the arm ed forces. After the stay at OTA, the Cadets headed to the monument-rich Mahabalipuram early morning today, where they explored the marvels in stones and got enlightened on its rich history. The team would the Union Ter ritory of Puducherry today. In the coming days, the expedition cum motivation rally is to pedal further deep into Tamilnadu and reach Salem and Coimbatore. The team on their way is meeting children of various schools giving them exposure about the armed forces. Military school students along with school staff organised this cycle rall y from Bengaluru to spread the message among the people about armed forces and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The team will continue cycling to Kochi, Kozhikode and Mysore before reaching their Bengaluru base on April 23.
