Story-;

Aha Tamil OTD Company, which recently launched with the slogan of 100 percent Tamil, has proudly released the web series “Pettaikali”. Jallikattu begins in Sivagangai, a neighboring district of Madurai, a cinema site that is seen, talked about and remembered as something related to Madurai. The story begins with a problem bet we en the farm family and the workers who worked there. The animosity of the farmers, who drive away the labore rs who asked for land, has been going on for generations. Kishore leads the agricultural laborers who live alone as landless and jobless refugees. Those who live in the mountain forest get the head cow of the wild cows. While tying it, agricultural laborers start their business with the herd of cows that come in search of it.Although all this is happening on the one hand, on the other hand, Vela Ramamurthy, a bellman, continues to live in the ancestral style of honor and dominance.

He considers his honor even in his domestic bull, and still sees the agricultural laborers cast out by his forefathe rs from that point of view.Meanwhile, Kalaiyarasan, the elder son of Kishor, who is the leader of the farm labo re rs, is a great cowherd. His full time occupation is cow farming and playing kabaddi. At this time Panchu Nadu Ma chuviratu is announced. The dandora is played to say that no one from the village where agricultural laborers liv e, should touch or tame the bellman’s bull. The locals also accept it. But despite the warnings of the village eld er s, Kalaiyarasan desperately tries to somehow tame the bellman’s bull.On the day of Manjuviratu, the bell-ring bu ll is tamed in the absence of many people. It becomes a great shame for Vela.Ramamurthy who is sitting on the stage.

The first episode ends with Kalaiyarasan standing in pride of taming the bull, and Maniyakar, throwing his towel off the stage in shame, comes down. It has been announced that the next episodes will be released on October 28.What’s going to happen if you beat the bull? What is Manichakar’s reaction? Will the danger of Kalaiyarasan come? How is Kisho going to react to that? Subsequent episodes move on with various questions including Pett aikali directed by L.Rajkumar and produced by Vetrimaran fills the eye with scenes of Siravayal Manchuvirattu. Velraj’s cinematography brings the Sivaganga area before our eyes without spilling it. Santhosh Narayanan’s su pervision of the title music and the background music brings out the enmity, violence and enmity. It is not a jall ikattu film… but it is a film about caste politics through jallikattu, it is clear from the first episode. Let’s see what the remaining episodes have to say!

Movie Review;

The web series ‘Pettaikali’ released on Aha ODT is the story of a caste-dominated whale (Lai)rai, who is roaring like an unruly bull with its horn combing its horns and aggressively taming it. Like Bulls Unleashed from a Wad iw ala, it is released as an episode every week, although the complete story cannot be judged from the two episodes released so far.The plot is the area around Arlipparai in Sivagangai district. The people of Mullaiyur have been w orking as agricultural laborers for generations in the Tamaraikulam farm and turning the barren lands into ba rr en land with hard work. Desperate to live on their own at some point, they ask the farmer to allocate a small po rtion of the hundreds of farmlands they have created. The farmer, who does not want his slave laborers to be co me bosses, refuses to part with the land. After him, his successor Manisekhara Pramanyar also refuses. Due to this, the people of Mullaiyur are moving away from there and rearing cattle.

Those cows become the property and livelihood of the people.Just when the famine is over and we are getting better, the enmity comes again in the form of jallikattu bull reared by the son of Manisekhara Panniyar, who cha sed away the land without dividing the land. This time not by land, but by caste dominance! When the people of Mullaiyur are forbidden to participate in Jallikattu, Kaliyarasan, a resident of the area, tames the farmer’s bull. Thus, how the two towns once again become enmity and what happens after that is the story of the first two ep isodes of the web series ‘Pettaikali’. Kishore as Muthiya, the leader of the people of Mullaiyur. Familiar actors like Kalaiyarasan as his elder brother Pandi and Vela Ramamurthy as Selvasekhara farmer are playing the main roles.Kalaiyarasan is enraged with his natural body language as a young man who shows his body injuries and says, “It’s a shame to catch a cow. I have won 56 medals.” “Even if the land is given to the government, I will give it. But he is the one who said that he will not give even a foot of land for us for the whole time.

We may even be below the one who thinks of us as equals. But, should we not step on the one who thinks of us as a sewer?”Kishore delivers a monstrous performance with a sneaky, sharp look. The affection shown in the eyes o f the elder son when he reprimands Kalaiyarasan is portrayed as the love he has for his people. At the same time, Routram dances like a volcano of anger to take revenge.”Hey… Kompa Nalla Koora Sivu. If it stings, it will sting. V ela.Ramamurthy as Selva Sekhara farmer who is crawling with the dominant arrogance, “Shouldn’t even the de si re to touch and see white people come to the wadi?” Even though Vela Ramamurthy’s acting is a face that refl ec ts the domineering attitude required by the story, an extreme artificiality prevails here and there.Santhosh Nara yanan’s backing vocals are rocking where rocking is needed and menacing where intimidating. A web series only shows a few indoor spots like home and office for the work from home range.

But cinematographer Velraj has brought the rural landscape and grandeur of Jallikattu with drone shots in ‘Pet taikali’.Vela Ramamurthy’s young wife, who stores the Rautras and Ranas in her heart like a great ocean, with her mysterious smile creates awe-inspiring expectations. His role can be expected to be big in the upcoming even t s.The background score by Santhosh Narayanan, which often reminds of the film ‘Asuran’, makes the audience gu ess that this is what will happen when Kalaiyarasan goes to apologize to Vela.Ramamurthy, he is used to playing this character, and the two episodes have many usual clichés like the desire of the son to replace the father.In th is series, which touches on many things like domination, deceit, enmity and heroism, the story reaches its climax within two episodes. Curiosity about what’s next is missing at the end of the second episode.
