In an endeavour to empower poor and people with movement disability in their journey from dependence to ind ependence, Adinath Jain Trust, Choolai, Chennai, organised a camp today (1st March 2023) for distributing free prosthetic mobility aids worth Rs. 30 lakhs to 600 beneficiaries on the occasion of 70th Birthday Celebrations of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. M.K. Stalin.
Hon’ble Minister of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department Shri P.K. Sekar Babu presided over the camp and distributed various accessories and equipments including free modular & artificial limbs, Clutches, tricycles, wheelchairs, glasses, hearing aids and walking supporters to the beneficiaries.
Other special guests who were present at the event were Shri Ganga Prasad, Shri Anopchand Bhirakcha, Shri Pr amod Chopra, Dr. Bhuvaneshwari Rajendran, Dr. Surendar Kumar Bora, Shri Prakashchand Gulecha, Shri Madanl al Chowatia and Adv. Shrenik Jain.
Speaking on the occasion, the Trustee of Adinath Jain Trust, Mr. Manoj Jain, said, “These grants are distributed t o the poor and differently abled in memory of Smt. Kasturibai Kawad, with the support of her family members, S mt. Aashibai Ranulal, Mr. Devraj Gulecha. With a motto of creating and nurturing an inclusive society for the di fferently abled, we at Adinath Jain Trust have been organising periodical screening and distribution camps for pr oviding artificial prosthetic mobility aids to people with movement disabilities for 43 years now. So far, we have benefitted over 12 lakh people and with today’s camp, we have transformed the lives of 600 more! Our actions s tem from our strong belief that with such prosthetic mobility aids, not only will their quality of lives improve, but their confidence and social standing in the society will be elevated to the next level. Furthermore, this will help t hem seek right employment opportunities that will reduce their dependence on the family members, increase th eir savings and eventually make their future hopeful, sans the social stigma”.
