NCC CADETS OF TAMILNADU BAG SECOND POSITION IN ALL INDIA INTER-DIRECTORATE SHOOTING COMPETITION
NCC Cadets of Tamilnadu brought laurels to the state by winning 4 Gold, 2 Silver and one Bronze Medal in the recently concluded All India Inter-Directorate Sports Shooting Competition conducted at Chandigarh from 04-15 July 2022 through National Rifle Association of India. Tamilnadu Pondicherry Andaman (TNPA) Directorate was adjudged Overall Second position among 17 State Directorates. Considering the Directorate’s performance, 12 participants among 17 are qualified to represent DGNCC National Shooting team in upcoming Pre-Nationals (AIGVMVC-2022) scheduled in the month of September.
These Cadets were selected from various Districts of Tamilnadu in the month of May and underwent different stages of systematic Sports Shooting training for nearly two months for the competition.
Selvi Apoorva IAS Principal Secretary-Youth Welfare & Sports Development Department of Tamilnadu hono ured the medalists with certificates and handed over 13 Imported Sports Rifles worth Rs 59 Lakhs to Tamilnadu NCC Shooting team in the presence Commodore Atul Kumar Rastogi, Deputy Director General of the NCC Directorate of TNPA.
