NCC CADETS BRING LAURELS TO TAMILNADU
1. The Republic Day Contingent of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman Nicobar National Cadet Corps Directorate, has brought laurels to the State by an exemplary performance at the recently concluded Republic Day Camp 2022 at New Delhi.
2. Republic Day Camp 2022 is a prestigious National level camp in which numerous competitions are held for selected NCC Cadets from the 17 NCC Directorates of the country. RDC Contingent 2022 of TN, P & AN Direct orate under Lt Col SK Raju of 8 (TN) Bn NCC Kumbakonam comprising of one Associate NCC Officer, one GCI an d 57 cadets participated in the event held at New Delhi in Jan 2022. The cadets of the Directorate stood overall fourth in the competitions keenly contested by cadets from all 17 Directorates.
3. In the Best Cadet Competitions SCC R Aishwarya of Stella Maris College bagged the Gold Medal in the Best Cadet Senior Wing Navy category and a baton which were awarded by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi hims elf. CWO K Pooja Shivani of WCC Chennai won the Silver Medal in the Best Cadet Senior Wing Air Force and Ca det Divya Bharati of Dr Ambedkar Law Univer sity won the Bronze Medal in the Best Cadet Senior Wing Army category.
4. On return back to Chennai the contingent was given a warm reception by Commodore AK Rastogi, Deputy Director General and all ranks including Ex NCC Cadets Forum in a lavish Barakhana organized at Loyola Colle ge, Chennai. The cadets were felicitated with many prizes and momentos and honored with a short cultural prog ramme and di nner organized by NCC Gp Madras ‘B’ under Gp Capt T Arunachalam. In his address to the cadets the DDG com plimented all the Officers, staff and cadets for their sterling performance and motivated the cadets to carry the traditions of the Directorate ahead by training their juniors and prepare for RDC 2023.
