Suraj is a lawyer who can get compensation for accidents in Kerala. Vineeth Srinivasan on the other hand drea ms of becoming a great lawyer somehow. But he has not received any case. At some point he comes to know ab out Suraj’s work. Then Vineeth Srinivasan also starts doing the same work. The story of the film Mukundan Unni Associates is about the dangers that will befall him.
Vineeth Srinivasan, who is well known in the Malayalam film industry, became popular in the Tamil public with t he film Hirdayam. This film directed by him received good response. His upcoming film Mukundan Unni Associ at es has hit the theaters today. Directed by Abhinav Sundar Naik, the film stars Arsha Baiju, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Tanvi Ram in lead roles.

Adv. Mukundan Unni is an antisocial person who aims to be rich. Inorder to be rich, he tries to live a structured li fe for years, and it didn’t seem to work for him. He then tries to be aggressive and it works for him. As he grows ri ch, he becomes competitive, petty, and killing doesn’t bother him. He becomes a shadow of death by lurking arou nd emergency wards and pursuing accident insurance claims. Suraj is a lawyer who can get compensation for acc idents in Kerala. Vineeth Srinivasan on the other hand dreams of becoming a great lawyer somehow. But he has not received any case. At some point he comes to know about Suraj’s work. Then Vineeth Srinivasan also starts doing the same work. The story of the film Mukundan Unni Associates is about the dangers that will befall him. Mr.Unmarried lawyer Mukunthanunni (Vineeth Srinivasan) is a 36-year-old who sets out to ‘succeed’ in life with an unwavering blind mind. Old Mukundan Unni is reluctant to waste time as a junior lawyer and tries to file cases on his own.
Practicing as a junior to many senior advocates, he could not prosper in life and had no sympathy from anyone. Mukundan Unni meets Venu, a lawyer who helps him pay his mother’s hospital bills when his mother stumbles o n the floor when she sees a snake while climbing the stairs at home and returns home after failing in every attem pt to succeed in life. Mukundan learns new ideas for success through Venu and starts his life afresh to earn mon ey, wealth and success. If you are a sucker for wacky unapologetic stuff, then Mukundan Unni Associates from d ebutant Abhinav Sunder Nayak is a dark comedy that will surely work for you. What is unique about this film is the way it has designed its central protagonist. He is outright evil, and the movie embraces his philosophy and n arrates the story entirely from his perspective, almost making the viewer feel guilty for laughing at some of the things happening on screen. Mukundan Unni Associates leaves a good impression of trying to deliver something new. Adv. Mukundan Unni is a struggling lawyer who was working as a junior to a reputed advocate. His over-smartness at one point gets him fired from the job, and he decides to practice on his own. During one hospital visit for his mother’s checkup, Muk undan Unni realizes the financial scope for insurance settlement cases. Unni, who had this failed plan of becomi ng successful before the age of 30, decided to latch on to this risky yet quick way of money making. The roadbloc ks ahead of him and how he tackles them are what we see in Mukundan Unni Associates. When the end credits r ole, we can see the director’s name credited with “voice-over script.” Suppose you remove that voice-over from the movie and try a different background score and edit pattern. In that case, Mukundan Unni Associates can be come an entirely different movie that perhaps shows the realization of a selfish lawyer.
But the beauty or I should rather say the fun side of Mukundan Unni Associates, is the way it is unapologetic ab out staying with its borderline psychopath character. Since we are very much used to this good hero stereotype, Abhinav’s decision to keep him like that till the end feels really fresh. Apart from the character he played in Ch a ppa Kurishu, almost all the characters played by Vineeth Sreenivasan fit into a particular category. But the char acter of Mukundan Unni was a challenge as the mannerism could have easily made the performance look very artificial or caricature-like. But Vineeth controls his performance, and it helps the movie from slipping into that illogical zone. Average Ambili fame Arsha Baiju gets a character that is diametrically opposite to Ambili, and she was fun to watch as the equal partner of the wicked lawyer. Suraj Venjaramood goes back to his humorous shade with Mukundan Unni Associates. Jagadeesh, Sudhy Koppa, Tanvi Ram, George Kora,
Manikandan Pattambi, Riya Saira, etc., are the other memorable performances in the elaborate star cast. From a spect ratios to those voice-overs, Abhinav is very clear about how he wants to present the movie. The attention t o detail one can see even on the visual representation of a WhatsApp audio is really appreciable. The only issue I had with the film is the lack of tightness one can feel in the third act, as there isn’t a precise central conflict in the movie. But by pushing the character to a darker space, Abhinav somehow distracts the audience using the fresh s tuff he catered. The cinematography doesn’t go for any kind of money shots, and a large chunk of it has these sta tic frames. And for a change, there were no Thank you cards. The title came and went so fast that nobody could click it and post it as an insta story (bonus marks for that alone!) .
Mukundan Unni decides to use his legal knowledge to start a firm called Mukundan Unni Associates and become an exploitative lawyer rather than an ordinary lawyer who wins every situation. This marks a turning point in the life of Mukundhan Tick. His desire turns to greed and at every stage he moves forward by tactfully knocking dow n and destroying those who stand in his way. ‘Mukundan Unni’ becomes someone who is willing to go to any leng ths to succeed in life. The rest of the story of the film is what happens in the life of ‘Mukundan Unni’ after that.Vi neeth Srinivasan fills the screen with a negative shade of Mukundan Unni as a corrupt and self-interested lawyer who is not a white-clad hero but a villain, wearing black-framed glasses, oiled-haired, and white-clad. A self-inte rested lawyer with an eye for success, he easily fits the role. Much of the film revolves around Mukundan’s conve rsations with himself.
Especially when you hear him muttering things out loud about others in his mind that are so contrary to his per on ality that it really gives the film a great strength. His tussles between his girlfriend Jyoti, hospital reception ist Meenakshi, his friend Robi and his rival Venu – are well-acted as they shed light on Mukundan’s true self.Suraj V enjaramoodu, Suthi Goba, Arsha Baiju, Tanvi Ram, George Kora, Rhea Saira, Sudish Aghi are confirmed as the m ain characters who will get attention for the progress of the story.Abhinav has used his editing well. Cinematogr apher Viswajith delivers the scenes very elegantly from start to finish and makes sure to stay focused on the cha racters without distracting.Music by CB Mathew Alex and the background score is superb.Although the plot goe s on a thriller track, the plot is sharp as to what Mukundhan is trying to do and what are the obstacles in his way.

Director Abhinav Sundar Naik has presented this film in a way that exposes not only lawyers, but doctors, policemen, ambulance drivers and policemen who are trusted by the common people and those who forget the ethics and take advantage of the common people in front of the so ciety. Director Abhinav Sundar Naik has achieved great success in taking us into the story in a way that even the uninitiated can understand. Mukundan, who appears innocent at first, turns into a selfish villain .
