Moments after the statement from the International Cricket Council (ICC) came on Wednesday evening, ann ouncing that Shashank Manohar will be stepping down from the chair, the Nagpur-based lawyer’s long-time ad versary N Srinivasan called the development “good riddance”.
Calling out his former colleague’s move to leave the BCCI in the middle of a crisis and heading to the ICC in 2015 “a selfish decision”, Srinivasan told TOI: “Ever since the new leadership has come into BCCI, Shashank knew he co uld not afford to represent India and use that as a vehicle for his convenience. He knew he had no chance (to con tinue) and therefore he has run away”.
Srinivasan has never minced his words when it comes to Manohar. The Chennai-based industrialist, who once worked alongside Man ohar, has been of the firm view that the latter has done more da mage to Indian cricket than any other administrator on multiple fronts. “My personal view is he has done so much damage to In dian cricket that every person involved in Indian cricket will be happy (with his exit).
