Movie Review-;

Parentless Vijay Vishwa and Naleep Zia have been supporting each other since childhood and living together. He roine Mahana falls in love with Vijay Vishwa. When Mahana’s brother John Vijay comes to know about this love affair, he objects and Vijay threatens Vishwa. Naleep Zia confronts Vijay threatening his friend John and challen ges Vijay saying that he will marry Vishwa and Mahana and no one can stop it as long as I am alive. Accordingly, Naleep Zia takes care of his friend’s wedding arrangements and on the other hand, John Vijay tries to rescue his younger sister somehow. Meanwhile, Naleep Zia suddenly disappears. Vijay Vishwa appeals to the court thinki ng that John Vijay killed him. But it is revealed that John Vijay is not the reason behind the disappearance of Na leep Zia. What happened to Naleep Zia?,

did he get married to friend Vijay Vishwa like he said?, or not? That is the story of the film ‘Kumbari’.The film beg ins as a prequel called flashback and travels through the past. In this, a love story and a brother-daughter love st ory have been interwoven and made into a screenplay. John Vijay, whose name is Durai, is the brother who has immense affection for Mahana, whose name is Darshini. Madhumita, who plays the role of Arthi, helps Darshin i’s love. At one point they run away from home. He says that not only Janvijay but also his stepfather Siddappu Saravanan will catch them. They gather people. The climax is when the slaves chased them, they went into the sea to escape, and they chased them again to show that the water was a river or a mountain. Vijay Vishwa, the protagonist who plays the role of Arun, and Naleep Zia, who plays the role of his friend Joseph, have acted well.

There are many acting moments especially for the character of friend Jia. Mahana who plays the heroine in the role of Darshini has given a beautiful and measured performance. Madhumita, who is known as a comedy actre ss, plays the role of Aarthi. Meenal, who is known as a character actress, tests us in the name of comedy. What is supposed to be an exciting love story is made boring by putting awkward scenes with jokes here and there. Espec ially the scenes where John Vijay shows affection to his younger sister are dramatic and the height of over acti ng. Paruthiveeran, who is known for his heroism and villainy, has made Saravanan a comedian and they hate him. Comedian Sams comes as Janvijay’s sidekick and tries to make him laugh as much as he can. Even Ryan, who pla ys the role of a skinny drunkard, gets the laughs.

The cinematography by Prasad Arumugam can be said to be the greatest strength of the film. The beauty of Kan yakumari soil, waterfall, river, sea and the green natural areas have been captured in his camera. The drone foot age of the villain’s boats surrounding the protagonist in the middle of the sea is good. Music composers have also done their part flawlessly. The Kumari Tamil song ‘Aviye Iviye Ellarum Nillunga’ in the beginning of the movie is w orth noting. The way it is presented is also appropriate. The song ‘Nanum Neeum Sentidave Manam Enguthe’ wh ich plays in the second half is sweet. Kumbari is said to be a word that means friend in the film. It runs for 115 mi nutes Friendship, love, brother and sister affection are three in the film In Kanyakumari district a friend is called Kumbari.

But the film is more about love than friendship. So it can be titled as ‘Kumbari Kadhal’. Not even a cent of the diff erence in the title Kumbhari lies in the story and screenplay. Though the story revolves around love and friends hip, the way the story has been shot is so cheesy and it looks like the film was shot by people who don’t know an ything about cinema. Just as actor Abhi Saravanan, who is branded as a budget-friendly hero, changed his name to Vijay Vishwa, his cinematic journey will continue if he pays some attention to the story selection. If he does not do that, if he travels with the intention of having a film opportunity, his co-star and intimate scenes with him in the film, his films will definitely run only in Prasad Lab Preview Theatre. Naleep Zia, who is playing the second lead role, has done his job flawlessly despite being a newcomer.

Mahana Sanjeevi, who plays the heroine, who decides to marry her boyfriend on the same day of love and travels with him to do so is unbelievable, but she is perfect for the role. John Vijay, who plays the role of the heroine’s br other, with his usual overacting, has made the film strong at some points and weak at others. Jangiri Madhumith a, who is acting in a comedy role, has over acted John Vijay. Paruthiveeran Saravanan, Sams, Senthi Kumari, Kad hal Sukumar are experienced actors but they are not used properly. Written and directed by Kevin Joseph, he h as attempted to make a film on a small budget.

Whatever story he has chosen for it, if he had shown a little difference in the way of telling it, the film would ha ve been enjoyable. But man has told everything like a love story should not be told. That and the scenes and dial ogues he designed in the name of comedy were not taken cleanly.The only thing that is interesting in the film is the locations. Cinematographer Prasad Arumugam, who has shot scenes in the beautiful parts of Kerala along w ith Kanyakumari district, has sought out and captured locations that have not been seen much in movies. Jaya p rakash’s music is new in the way a song about Kanyakumari district is crafted using the spoken Tamil of the sam e district. The other songs are also listenable and the background music is approx. All in all, this ‘Kumbari’ is sure to set the theaters abuzz.
