Story-;

Director Ananda Krishnan packages the film with a fair mix of all commercial elements, making it appeal to the mainstream audience in an interesting manner. The dialogues are on point and leave an impact. However, one can feel that the screenplay is a bit of a letdown. The sequences are scrambled, thereby lacking a cohesiveness. The screenplay could have been constructed in an organic fashion with proper staging. Majority of the second half is fairly predictable and it doesn’t have any major sequences to keep the audience glued. Although there are three villains in the film, none of them are threatening enough. Vijaya Raghavan (Vijay Antony) is an IAS aspirant who takes tuition classes for the children in his locality. However, the children are being spoiled and guided in the wrong path by the rowdies in that area.

He opposes the rowdies and as a result, the evil forces block Vijaya Raghavan from appearing in the IAS Final Ex am. As a resilient man, Vijaya Raghavan enters politics to defeat his odds and serve the people. Does Vijaya Ragh avan succeed in his mission? Watch the film to know! Vijayaraghavan is an IAS aspirant. His mother wanted him to be in a respectable position. Vijayaraghavan is a do-gooder who helps people in his locality. In a situation, he locks horns with a local councilor and his supporters. If Vijayaraghavan faces opposition from the councilor and lands in trouble, his IAS dream will be shattered, and he couldn’t fulfill his mother’s wish. What will he do to solve this? The rest of the story deals with it.This is yet another sentimental film for Vijay Antony, who did his part we ll. Vijay is always good at mother sentiment characters.

Super Subbarayan, Prabhakar, and others fit well in the roles.Although the plot is not new, the situations are a bit different. The story moves briskly, and when it slightly derails, Ananda Krishnan brings in the mother senti ment and makes the audience sit straight. Yet, the narration should have been better. The energy in the first half is missing in the second half. Ananda Krishnan should rectify this in his following films. Vijay Antony is good in the action scenes too. As usual, the heroine didn’t have anything specific to do. Like the other leading action her oes, Vijay Antony is projected for his heroism, and it works. However, some subtle performance is expected. The cinematography is decent. Vijay Antony turned an editor in this film and shifted his music department to Nivas, who had done an excellent job. Story is good The stars performed well  The second half should have been better Although the film comes with a regular plot and mother sentiment, it works out well. However, Vijay Antony sh ould concentrate more on different scripts. Kodiyil Oruvan – watchable!

Movie Review-;

Vijay Antonys Kodiyil Oruvan is a mass action entertainer with the mother sentiment as the silver lining. The film begins with an upright woman Divya Prabha who was given a chance to compete in the local body election in Kombai and come out with flying colors. But her party members are against her ideas to uplift the local peo ple. As a result, they kill her husband but she somehow manages to survive despite serious fire burns and also saves her child Vijayaraghavan Vijay Antony. With his most recent picture, the excellent Metro, a sleek thriller about chain-snatching criminals in Chennai, director Ananda Krishnan turned heads. Despite the fact that it was shot on a shoestring budget, he was able to make Metro stand out with its raw action, particularly scenes involvi ng chain snatching. He shows the same potential in Kodiyil Oruvan, his first big-budget picture, which stars vijay antony in a character that is a welcome change from his customary roles. Kodiyil Oruvan is touted as a political thriller, but it’s really just about a man achieving his mother’s dream of becoming an IAS officer.

However, the picture has a far larger scale and a compelling political undercurrent.Vijayaraghavan is an IAS as pirant, he comes to Chennai to achieve his dream but earns the enmity of the local politicians who use the slum youngsters as scapegoats for their crimes and also make them drug addicts. Vijay trains the youngsters, educ ates them, and helps them to clear the exams. The first 15-30 min of the movie is emotionally charged and unn ecessarily emotional. Kodiyil Oruvan starts in the town of Kombai, where a big-shot asks a young woman to run in the local body polls. The lady who wins the election is revealed to be idealistic, and she stands in the way of the man who asked her to run in the first place. He decides to kill her since he is dissatisfied with her techniques, but she flees and gives birth to a baby. The mom raises her child with the intention of making him an IAS official, but as he grew up and leaves for Chennai, life takes a diversion.Now, Vijayraghavan, with the support of the slum people, becomes the councillor of the slum and transforms into a model ward in the entire Tamil Nadu. But the local politicians want him to be corrupt and cooperate with them. Needless to say, they threaten him and torture his loved ones.

The picture works to a significant measure because of how well it sticks to the formula of industrial production, as foreseeable as it could have been. It also exploits the emotive mother-son plotline that has previously worked in Vijay Antony’s films. vijay antony embraces the role of Vijaya Raghavan and plays to his abilities as an artist who is well aware of his constraints when it comes to performing. If you’ve followed his career, you’ll know that he’s a performer who can’t really make a real difference with his acting, therefore he frequently picks stories th at hide his flaws.The picture is saved by several creative twists and terrific action choreography. The environm ent, which was shot in a real housing society, is crucial in defining the tone. Shankar’s Mudhalvan and Nishikanth Kamat’s Evano Oruvan, which starred R Madhavan, were both inspirations for the film. All of these movies featu re idealistic heroes who have a strong sense of belonging to the society in which they live. All of these heroes mu st cope with their breaking points and the consequences that follow at some point. Vijaya Raghavan, who belie ves it is his duty to aid the people in his neighbourhood, discovers that politics is his trump card.

The movie finishes with a tease of a sequel and this is a passable entertainer. Vijay Antony’s Kodiyil Oruvan is a mass action entertainer with the mother sentiment as the silver lining. The film begins with an upright wom an (Divya Prabha) who was given a chance to compete in the local body election in Kombai and come out with flying colors. But her party members are against her ideas to uplift the local people. As a result, they kill her husband but she somehow manages to survive despite serious fire burns and also saves her child Vijayaraghavan (Vijay Antony). Vijayaraghavan is an IAS aspirant, he comes to Chennai to achieve his dream but earns the enmity of the local politicians who use the slum youngsters as scapegoats for their crimes and also make them drug addi cts. Vijay trains the youngsters, educates them, and helps them to clear the exams.  But despite clearing his IAS exams, Vijayaraghavan was brutally attacked and forced to not attend the final interview.  Now, Vijayraghavan, with the support of the slum people, becomes the councillor of the slum and transforms into a model ward in the entire Tamil Nadu.

But the local politicians want him to be corrupt and cooperate with them. Needless to say, they threaten him and torture his loved ones.The scenes that are shot in the slum look authentic and look different compared to other political films we have seen in Tamil cinema. The first half of the film moves at a good pace with several interesti ng scenes and neat packaging. The second half has its moments but Vijay Antony couldnt handle the mass politic al dialogues. The film picks up the momentum in the last twenty minutes with a high moment in the climax.Te chn ically, Nivas K Prasannas songs are catchy while the background score by Harish Arjun was just okay. Cine mato graphy by Uthay Kumar and stunts by Mahesh Mathew are the other two big highlights in the film.Aath mika hel ps to amplify the glam quotient, the supporting actors Divya Prabha, Super Subbarayan, and Ram have done a ne at job.Kodiyil Oruvan is a mass action entertainer from Vijay Antony on the lines of Pichaikkaran with strong mother sentiment.
