KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS COMMEMORATED AT WAR MEMORIAL CHENNAI
Headquarters Dakshin Bharat Area of Indian Army commemorated 23rd Kargil Vijay Diwas in a solemn Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Victory War Memorial, Chennai today. Lieutenant General A Arun, General Officer Com manding-Dakshin Bharat Area along with personnel from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Veterans, NC C and civil fraternity paid homage to the valour and sacrifice of our Fallen Heroes who have made supreme sacrifice for the country.
Kargil Vijay Diwas is commemorated on 26th of July every year to observe India’s victory over Pakistan in the Ka rgil War-1999 for ousting Pakistani Forces from their occupied positions on the mountain tops of Northern Kargil District in Ladakh. The sacrifice and valour of the soldiers and leaders of the Indian Army in the Kargil War, also known as Operation Vijay remains unparalleled.
