INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATED AT CONTROLLER OF DEFENCE ACCOUNTS (CDA), CHENNAI
International Women’s Day was celebrated at the Controller of Defence Accounts (CDA), Chennai for a week w ith enthusiastic participation of female employees. In the culmination program held today, CDA Shri Jayaseelan, IDAS, honoured eight women achievers in different fields including education, Army, Navy and farming etc., with a shawl & memento and also awarded the medal winners in various competitions.
One among the awardee being Brigadier Muthulaxmy(retd.) – after completing 33 years and 4 months in military nursing service and currently practicing as an advocate. Smt Selvi, a visually challenged woman was also honor ed with the women achiever aw ard. Also various cultural programs like singing and traditional dance were orga nized on the occasion.
CDA Chennai has organized various events/sports activities such as traditional sports like nondi aatam, pallang uli, thayam, uri adithal etc., for one week starting from 1st March 2023 to 08th March 2023 for the women staff serving in the organization. Also Smt. Jayanthi, Senior Accounts Officer & Smt. Thara, Senior Translator received the prize and memento for bringing out of Hindi magazine TULIKA.
To emphasize the idea that women’s dreams are important, CDA Chennai has kept a “Dream Box” in which all Of ficers and staff of the organisation have dropped their wishes and their dreams as promised were fulfilled.
