INDIAN NAVY SIGNS MOU WITH SRM UNIVERSITY CHENNAI

Two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) were signed with SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM IS T) on 11 Jan 23. The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Mrs. Kala Hari Kumar, President Navy Welfare and Wellness Association (NWWA), R Adm B Sivakumar, ACOM (IT&S), Sh C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice Chancellor SR M IST, Dr S. Ponnusamy, Registrar, Deans and faculty members of SRM IST.
The first MoU was signed between Mrs. Kala Hari Kumar, President NWWA and Sh C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice Chancellor SRM IST. Under the aegis of this MoU, which stands valid for the next 5 years, SRM Institute of Scien ce and Technology, will offer 3 eligible students of Naval community, admission into SRM’s B.Tech programmes, at select campuses with full waiver of tuition/registration fee.
The second MoU was signed between R Adm B Sivakumar, ACOM (IT&S) and Sh C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice Cha ncellor SRM IST. This MoU will promote academic cooperation, enhance scientific unders tanding of technologies related to defence and encourage research in mutually beneficial areas. The areas of collaboration, in addition to engineering fields, also include niche core research areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Sciences and Quant um analytics. Under the aegis of MoU, select officers from the Indian Navy can also unde rgo M. Tech and PhD pr ogrammes at SRM Institute of Science and Technology.
The Memoranda of Understanding are milestones which envision to benefit both the organizations as it reinforc es NWWA/Indian Navy’s resolute commitment towards nation building and SRM IST’s commitment to support the defence forces.
