Indian Coast Guard carries out Special Community Interaction Programme  at 75 villages

Indian Coast Guard carries out Special Community Interaction Programme  at 75 villages as part of “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav”

Indian Coast Guard carried out Special Community Interaction Programme(CIP) at 75 villages along the coast today on the occasion of “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav”, launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi; which falls exactly 75 weeks from the 75th Independence Day on 15 August 2022. In the Eastern Region, the Indian Coast Guard in coordination with Fisheries officials and Marine Police, conducted the Special CIP at 20 coastal villages of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

During the interactions, the Coast Guard officials underlined the role of fishermen being ‘Eyes and Ears’ in the domain of Coastal Security and the importance of being a good and responsible citizen. Additionally, there were training sessions on the issues related to safety of life at sea, carrying basic life-saving equipment and biometric ID cards to the fishermen in an interactive manner. In the interactions, the significance of 75 years of independence was also mentioned.

Community Interaction Programmes reiterate Indian Coast Guard’s commitment for safety and security of fis hermen at sea while commemorating “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav”. Indian Coast Guard also plans to conduct various activities like Marathon/Cyclothon/ Motorcycle Rally/Medical Camps and  extended CIPs in the for thcoming months, as part of Government of India’s celebration of 75 years of Independence.
