GUARD RESCUES NINESTRANDED FISHERMEN OFF PUDUCHERRY ON 03 FEB 21

 Chennai, 04 Feb 2021

           In yet another rescue mission the Indian Coast Guard at Chennai provided succour to nine TN fishermen in distress at sea.

A Chennairegistered fishing boat (from Kasimedu Fishing Harbour) namely‘Rukhmani’ Regd. No. TN-02-MM-2449with nine fishermen onboard was reported to be in distress about 100 km East of Puducherry coast in the morning of 03 Feb 21. The boat was stranded due to engine breakdown.

          The distress message from the stranded boat was receivedby Coast Guard Dornier aircraft on patrol which vectored ICGSAnagh to the location of the stranded fishing boatto render assistance to the boat in distress.

          The owner of the boat was alsocontacted and appraised of the situation. Owing to darkness/drift, the boat wasbrought to safety off Cuddaloreat about0500 h on 04Feb 21. Giving credence to the motto ‘We Protect”.
