Greater Chennai Police Commissioner inaugurates HCL Foundation’s Career Advancement Training Center (CATC) at Arumbakkam, flags off an Excellence Sports Bus for local teams
- HCL Foundation (HCLF), the CSR (corporate social responsibility) arm of HCL Technologies, launched a Career Advancement Training Centre (CATC) at K8 Arumbakkam Police Boys & Girls Club and a Police Boys & Girls Club Excellence Sports Bus on 14th April 2022. Tr. Shankar Jiwal, I.P.S, Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai Police, inaugurated the center, instituted with Don Bosco Anbu Illam – HOPE Foundation and flagged off the Excellence Sports bus.
- The newly launched center will focus on underprivileged mentoring aspirants for TNPSC, SSC, Banking, and Uniform services by providing quality, affordable, competitive entrance coaching for 100 motivated and responsible individuals annually. Apart from free coaching with the most exemplary infrastructure, the center will also offer weekly mock tests, bilingual classes and bi-monthly guest lectures to the aspirants.
- The Excellence Sports bus aims to spread awareness and promote campaigns about sports in communities and schools. It will help players studying in Government schools and vulnerable children travel safely to different locations to play sports. The bus is equipped with modern sporting facilities to help teams travel cost-effectively, hassle-free, and comfortable manner.
- Tmt. S. Rajeswari welcomed the gathering, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police, West Zone, GCP, and an introductory address delivered by Tr. Balamuralidharan, Vice President, HCL Technologies. A Vote of Thanks, conveyed by Tr. R. Shiva Prasad, I.P.S., Deputy Commissioner of Police, Anna Nagar District, GCP, followed at the event.
- The CATC at K8 Arumbakkam Police Boys & Girls Club has been constructed under the Community Welfare scheme and was supported by the Greater Chennai Corporation.
- HCL Foundation’s advanced education center is part of its Gurukul project under HCLF’s urban flagship program Uday, which focuses on education and skill development of underprivileged children between 3 and 18 years and facilitates their smooth integration into the regular school program.
