Golden Jubilee Celebration of Victory in 1971 War (Swarnim Vijay Varsh) & honouring the Victory Flame at 4-45 pm on Thursday, 29 July 2021 at MMA Management Center.

Madras Management Association, with the support of GOC, Dakshin Bharat Area, has scheduled a special event commemorating the Golden Jubilee celebration of victory in 1971 War (Swarnim Vijay Varsh) 5PM pm on Thursday, 29 July 2021, at the MMA Management Center.
On December 16, 1971, the Indian Armed Forces achieved a stellar and historic victory over the Pakistan Army, leading to the creation of Bangladesh and causing the largest military surrender in conventional war after World War II. To commemorate 50 years of the 1971 war and mark 2021 as ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh’ (golden victory year), Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over the ‘victory flame’ to the Indian Army. The victory flame is being taken to all corners of the country to commemorate the event. MMA is organizing a prestigious event to honor the Victory Flame at the MMA Management Center with ceremonial military honors, befitting the occasion.
In view of the prevailing restrictions, only a select few war veterans, military personnel, NCC cadets and members of MMA have been invited to the MMA Management Center. However, the event is being webcast live for the benefit of all other management professionals, invitees, armed forces personnel and their families, academicians, students and viewers from all walks of life.
To make the event memorable for its members, GOC, Dakshin Bharat Area, General A Arun has kindly consented to lead a conversation with War Veterans and decorated soldiers of the 1971 War, Rear Admiral Ram Sagar, (Retd) AVSM,VrC,NM and Col A Krishnaswami,(Retd) VrC,VSM over a fire-side chat. Besides, a number of other veterans of the war and Veera Naris (Widows of Martyrs) would be honoured on the occasion.
Mr Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, MMA & President, Danfoss Industries Ltd said that it was indeed a great honor for MMA and its members to organize this programme jointly with Dakshin Bharat Area, and listening to the war veterans reminiscing their battle experiences is a rare opportunity.
Gp Capt R Vijayakumar (Retd) VM, Executive Director MMA said that MMA works a number of educational institutions in Tamil Nadu and Pondichery in enhancing their management knowledge. He said such special events inspire the youth not only in enhancing their nationalistic fervor but also explore armed forces as a career option.
