A couple from Sivalingapuram is creating a sensation in the country with a one-of-a-kind wedding that breaks the boundaries of time, space, and distance with a never-seen-before digital wedding. All set to get married on Metaverse, an online realm of the interconnected 3D virtual world, Dinesh S P and Janaganandhini Ramaswamy from Tamil Nadu are planning to tie the knot on February 6.  

The celebration has been co-sponsored by Abishek Rengasamy, CEO of the prominent fitness apparel brand Dumbell, who also owns the fitness restaurant Lo-Cal. It all started when Dinesh, a tech enthusiast, had a Eureka moment and came up with the idea that will soon change the perception of marriage in India. As soon as Dinesh shared his idea with his childhood friend Abishek, the latter was willing to support with no hesitation.

The Metaverse is a virtual reality universe in which users can interact with each other via digital avatars, Metaverse incorpo rates several technologies such as augmented reality, blockchain, and virtual reality.

So why should an apparel brand collaborate with Metaverse? Du mbell has been looking at the larger picture and is approaching the market from a whole new perspective. It is slowly evolving from a regular company to one that uses futuristic technology.

This is only the beginning of technological collaborations for Dumbell. In the near future, Dumbell T-shirt designs are all set to be available as NFTs. In addition to this, Abishek is also planning to open a store in Metaverse.

Abishek will also be taking up a digital avatar and those who are part of the marriage celebrations will also see Dumbell’s sponsorship screen in virtual reality.

The revolutionary couple, Dinesh and Janaganandhini, have been working together on the wedding from scratch and opening a window of opportunities for the sponsors to dive into.

This is the first time such a unique celebration is taking place in India. Every fraction of the art is stitched and turned into a masterpiece. When this project attains success, the trend will continue with many such weddings taking place in the country.

Abishek is extremely excited and firmly believes that Metaverse is here to stay. “The future is all about NFTs, blockchain, and cryptocurrency,” he states. To sum it up, it all started with a dream and these go-getters are making the world a smaller and more revolutionary place to live in.
