Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes conducts a walkathon in Tambaram on the occasion of World Hypertension Day

With around 100 participants from the public and th eir team, the one kilometre walkathon was held from Tambaram clinic to Tambaram Velachery main road (UCCO BANK). Dr. Prasanna Kumar Gupta and Dr.J. Selva Kumar-Senior Consultants at Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialtie s Centre – Tambaram branch flagged off the event and briefly spoke about the prevention and control of hyper t ension along with the aftereffects of uncontrolled hypertension.
Elaborating further on the need to control the severity and long terms effects of Hypertension, Dr. Prasanna Ku mar Gupta and Dr.J. Hypertension is more preva lent in diabetic men than diabetic women below 50 years of age and more common in wome n thereafter. One ne eds to be vigilant and cautious of the risk factors of hyp ertension in most countries like diabetes mellitus, obe si ty, sedentary beh aviour, alcohol, higher social class, salt intake and smoking etc.. Timely dia gnosis, medication , regular check-ups, proper diet and healthy lifestyle ne eds to be on top priority for countering Hypertension.”
