Doosra comes to the rescue of Social Workers contributing to COVID-19
- Facilitates 100 free Doosra Pro Version Virtual Numbers to Safeguard COVID Volunteers from Spam and Irrelevant Calls or Messages
Chennai, 16 June, 2021: During these unprecedented times, while our COVID volunteers are taking brave steps to support multiple social cause activities either directly or indirectly, they are faced with an inconceivable challenge in their daily routine life. In the process of extending support, one of the critical elements that a volunteer is compelled to do is to share his personal mobile number on various social platforms so that, the needy can approach him or her for support. Not just in the form of willful activity, sometimes the volunteers’ contact details are being circulated or posted on various social media platforms without their notice or permission.
Ever since the second wave of pandemic has hit, COVID volunteers in different parts of the country have complained about people stalking them or receiving irrelevant calls or messages, as their personal mobile numbers are floating on the social media platforms. This has become a serious matter of concern, as it would defeat the very purpose of the noble cause and as the volunteers are getting boggled, they are also refraining from undertaking such public welfare programs.
Having noticed such unfortunate incidents, Doosra has stepped up to support COVID Volunteers and decided to facilitate 100 free virtual mobile numbers to U&I TRUST. The virtual mobile numbers will not just safeguard the identity of COVID volunteers, but also give them a free hand to share their mobile numbers in any open forum or social media platforms. Doosra number facilitates a stress-free environment for the volunteers as they can attend to only critical and important calls and be untouched by spam or irrelevant calls or messages.
Lauding the efforts of the COVID volunteers, Mr. Aditya Vuchi, Founder and CEO of Doosra, said “we realised the critical challenges faced by the COVID volunteers and our Doosra number being the only way out to safeguard and pr otect the privacy of these volunteers, we decided to come forward to join hands with U&I TRUST. It was also an utmost priority for us to facilitate free Doosra Pro version numbers which gives an indefinite control of call blocker and save unlimited trusted contacts”
Until now, the team at U&I was focused only on data gathering and verifying leads to help those in dire need of resource information related to the pandemic. However, the service provided by Doosra will not only enable us to help those in need during the pandemic in a safe and secure manner, while protecting the privacy of our volu nteers, but will also help us grow in capacity and allow us to ideate further on areas through which we can reach out to people. We are grateful to have the support of such a brilliant service, which could not have come at a be tter time, said Mr. Ajit Sivaram, CO – Founder, U&I Trust.

How does Doosra work?
Doosra blocks all calls by default. All text messages sent to this secondary number are stored within the app. Ho wever, users always have the option to add a “trusted number” so you can whitelist the contact, and their calls will come through. The other way to somewhat whitelist calls is to turn off the call blocker for 60 minutes. In th at one hour, all calls on that secondary number will come through and will not be blocked by default.
The Doosra app uses your phone number and your location to route your calls.
In a situation where you have to call someone but you don’t want to use your primary number for it, Doosra of fers a limit of 100 minutes (every month), wherein it routes calls through an intermediate cloud telephony sy stem. Others can also call you back on this secondary number.
