DOCUMENTARY FILM SCREENING – CONVOCATION – SHASUN NEWS INAUGUARTION

Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College for Women, T.Nagar, Chennai, on 30th May 2022 organised Documentary Film Screening, Convocation of CoE-ME&C Students and Inauguration of Shasun News YouTube channel.

The guest of honour for the event was Dr.T.Satyamurty (Former Director, ASI), Dr.Nanditha Krishna (Director, CPR Institute), Mr.Prasanna Venkatesh (Celebrity Photographer) Ms.Priya Rajkumar (Actress, Film Personality), Mr.Ram Arunachalam (Movie Critic, Actor), Mr.K.B.Kumar(Actor, Voice over Artist) , Mr.Ramanathan (Film Actor, Voice Artist) and Mr.J.B.Sruthi Sagar (Falutist).

Welcome Address was given by Dr.S.Padmavathi, Principal of Shasun Jain College for Women, and Presidential address was given by Shri Abhaya Srisrimal Jain – Honourable General Secretary, Shri Harish L Metha – Associa te Secretary of the College.

The documentary film titled “Dr.BB Lal – A Doyen of Indian Archaeology” is a documentary film produced by Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College for Women, Chennai. The documentary felicitates Dr.Lal’s significant contributions to the study of Indian Archaeology and celebrates his success in firmly establishing India on the Gl obal map of Historical and Archaeological research, as well as how his vision inspired many other social scientis ts to pursue and diversify the field. The film was also premiered in The Indira Gandhi National centre for Arts, Ne w Delhi and won “Best documentary award” in Rajasthan International Film festival.

The Centre of Excellence for Media, Entertainment, and Communication organised it’s convocation for the 1st batch of students on their successful course completion certified under Skills India Scheme by NSDC in the Media Sector Skills Council. The students are now placed in various production houses and Television channels.

Shasun’s own YouTube News channel was inaugurated on the same day. The news channel is a part of School of Media and Communication. It’s a group effort of faculty, technicians and Students who together worked from content to final out. The news episodes will be premiered everyday evening at 8pm.
