From his marriage with Priya to his present job, he undoes lots of issues as he coul dn’t foresee the mess his life has was turning into.Karthik Yogi, the director of the film needs to rework the script loads. He did handle to entertain the viewers however positively not on an amazing notice. The film has silly com edy and simply tickles your humorous bone. Time travel is a posh topic and the timelines have to be wise.

With characters that come out of nowhere and appearances that make no sense, psychological asylum, cops, and much more, the film is extra to a romantic drama and much less to a comedy entertainer. Movie Review-;

Karthik Yogi loses out on an excellent setup for a crazy comedy with unflattering writing and some problematic social commentary.Props to director Kartik Yogi for coming up with a suitable title for his film. It is from a game that was invented by Bablu (Senthil) gentleman. When he tries to play ‘Dikkiluna’ (where you have to move ba ckwards and hit another person’s butt with yours) with Mani (Goundamani), he gets a kick to the back. Yogi in his film dikkiluna, also talks about the effect of a person who moves backwards over time. Zee5’s new release, Dikk iloona, is a Tamil-language science-fiction film set in the year 2027 in Chennai. Watching an Indian sci-fi film me ans overused CGI, bad editing and an exaggerated plotline. All of this is slightly true for this film too. Starring Sa nthanam, Anagha, Shirim Kanchwala and Yogi Babu, the story of Dikkiloona revolves around time travelling. This is another such concept with which people would expect the directors to be careful. However, as complex the pr ocess is, it is as complex to make a movie on it. Dikkiloona is about a man named Mani who works at an electrici ty board. He is tired of his life, including his work life and love life. He is married to a woman who keeps on nag ging him.

As they have been married for years now, they have lost the romance and also dislike each other at times. Mani finds a time machine that he uses to travel back in time to the year 2020. It is quite amusing to see that someone with a machine that can travel through, use it to go just seven years back. Not to a significant time in history, not to the unknown future, but only seven years back in their timeline. As the story of Dikkiloona moves forward, th e story becomes more and more superficial. As Mani is the main character, it is understandable that everyth ing revolves around him. However, all the other characters, especially women, have almost no character developm ent. They are just skeletons put in the story as per the necessities. They have zero say in the matters. Moreover, Mani is sexist and misogynistic too. He is troubled by his current marriage life, so travels to the past, stops his wedding and gets together with another woman. This new woman has a different personality than Mani’s wi fe. She is “modern” in the sense that she drinks, shows skin, hangs out with the opposite gender and a lot more thi ngs. Mani falls for these things but as Dikkiloona shows, it is exactly what troubles him.

This is absolutely ridiculous as, by the end, he mansplains “decency” to the woman. This is just one thing about Dikkiloona that will get on your nerves. Even though the idea is interesting, the execution part is poor. It lacks funny parts even though it is a comedy. Karthik Yogi’s mark of using comical scenes has given people many la ughs before. But in Dikkiloona, the most you can give is a smile or a smirk. Yogi Babu is the only actor who had tr ied to keep the comedy alive. There are also some problematic lines that are as visible, clear as day, in the movie. Unfortunately, there is nothing else to appreciate about the film other than its title. The setup is excellent for a crazy comedy: a man, frustrated with his life (especially with his wife) gets the chance to go back in time to stop his marriage. The resulting absurdities and conflicts should sparkle, explode, and produce spectacular flashes like fireworks in the night sky. But they only flicker like a tubelight on low-voltage electricity. While talking ab out the future, Karthik Yogi is able to present the future in Dikkiloona as realistic as possible, which can be co mmended.

The film shows gadgets and other things, keeping in mind that it is just six years ahead of us right now. However, this also makes the future boring as there are not many interesting aspects about it. Ultimately, Dikkiloona is a good attempt at making a science fiction movie in India that includes time travelling. The actors also have done a poor job when it comes to their performance. Most of the complexities and scientific terms are made up and co nfusing at the same time. Some things don’t make any sense at all. You will have to keep your cap of logic away while watching Dikkiloona, and unfortunately your sense of humour too. Santhanam uses his usual brand of in sult comedy. He calls the other characters, “Thavalkotta Via”, “Kung Fu Panda”, “Custom La Matana Aamai” and other things. But they can’t even wake up a laugh. The supporting characters (including Motta Rajendran, Mu ni shkanth, Anandaraj, Nijalgal Ravi, Sha Ra) also fail to entertain, although Yogi Babu delivers some funny lines. Oh, cricketer Harbhajan Singh also plays a cameo. Luckily, it’s just a cameo. NS Per Vechaalum songs from myt hology Michael Madna Kama Rajani It seems to be reused as some kind of tribute.

In this version too, a man is carrying a piece of log to take out the other man. Maybe they should have thrown in the four-time traveling Santhanam trying to get rid of each other? The original is packed with comical incidents with great acting and scintillating choreography. It tries to be funny too, but falls short.There are also some lo gi cal flaws. But let’s not get into it. Because, we can suspend disbelief in a science-fiction comedy… but should we also suspend our sense of humor?Mani (Santhanam), who works as a lineman at the Electricity Board, causes an accident that causes a time machine to work in 2027. Scientists have developed it to prevent crimes. Mani, who probably thinks that his marriage to Priya (Anagha LK) is a crime he has committed on himself, goes back seven years to stop it.Time travel is complicated. Usually, movies have a scientist explaining how it works, which can sometimes lead to more confusion (*cough* Theory) but you won’t have such a problem dikkiluna Because we have Albert Einstein (Yogi Babu) himself spelling out the formula for time travel! (If you want to know, read till the end of the article*)Thankfully, the movie doesn’t overdo the future with ridiculous gadgets.

Yogis know that this is only six years ahead of our present. But he could have been a little more creative with the future. if back in the future The chain showed us a flying car, dikkiluna Shows us the ‘Elite Tasmac Bar’, in which alcohol is free, but a water bottle costs Rs 2500!The second half of the film has more social commentary, espec ially on women. Mani goes back in time and changes his present, where he is married to another woman who li kes him. This woman, unlike Priya, does not bother him. But soon she learns that she is worse. He’s a “modern” ponnuShe drinks at night, parties and wears figure-hugging dresses and stilettos at temples. She has a “boy be stie” with whom she does the “Bit Tok” video.Mani, after a point, is unable to tolerate him and leaves him… but not before establishing concepts like decency and independence. Sample: “Freedom is not living the way you wa nt; it’s living in a way that is accepted by others.” In a way, this is also time travel. When Tamil cinema is giving im portance to women empowerment, dikkiluna Reminds us of the time when our heroes used to teach a lesson to women… how to be a woman.If the serious lines are problematic, the comical ones, well, most are not comical. Case in point: “Ennadhu, Idhu Time Machine Ah? Time Paka Edhukku Ivalo Periya machine?”
