CIRCLE OF LOVE FESTIVAL BRINGS TOP INDIE MUSICIANS TO CHENNAI FOR THE CITY’S FIRST MULTIDISCIPLINARY EVENT OF ITS KIND
Circle of Love, a Chennai-based independent music community platform that is passionate about developing Indi a’s artistic diversity, presents the first boutique festival of its kind in the city, celebrating some of the country’s top and emerging independent musicians along with food, art and much more. Conceptualised by Sameer Sethi and curated by Manny, the Circle of Love Festival will be held at Radio Room on October 15 th and 16 th 202 1.The event will feature 20 artists and two stages, with themed décor, installations, visual art, culinary curations and more, making it a medley of different artistic genres. Among the performing artists on the line-up are Stalv art, Skip, Mali, Nikhil Chinapa, Kayan,Manny, Jbabe, Henny, Bread & Jam, Sharan Nichani, Sneha, Booby, Mitra Visvesh, Aamer Peeran, Blackfern and more.
The festival is Circle of Love’s first major venture since the launch of its mul tigenre record label Circle of Love Records with two international releases and Centre Stage, a recorded series of performances by popular home grown acts that was produced and streamed during last year’s lockdown. Circle of Love was founded by Sameer Sethi, an award-winning entertainment innovator with over two decades of experience. Sethi’s work has inclu ded leading cultural events such as Sunburn, Sensation India, Filmfare Awards, Mirchi Music Awards, A. R Rah man Live, as well as international performances for artists including Aniru dh. The platform is also spearheaded by Manny, renowned undergroundmusic expert and one of the most established DJs in India today.
Speaking on the Circle of Love Festival, Sameer Sethi says, “We’ve always be ieved that India’s independent mus ic scene deserves major events, on par with other genres, and our boutique festival is the first of its kind to be hel d here in Chennai. Our aim is to put Chennai on the map as a destination for lovers of indie music, thus creating bridges between the artists and the audiences in the city and those elsewhere in the country.”The festival’s cura tor Ma nny adds, “Our work as an organisation is all about building community in the music scene and creating oppo rtunities for talents both established and new. The curation of 20+ artists is an eclectic mix. The audience can enjoy the work of their favourite artists live, while also discovering new gems. its an exciting time for inde pen dent music and we are looking forward to presenting a refreshing lineup and format to the audience in Che nnai and showcase fresh talent through this festival.”
