Black Tamil Movie Review
When no one moves into the 50-plus house villa complex, Jeeva – Priya Bhavani Shankar moves into one of the houses to spend their holidays. A few minutes after they entered the house, the only guard there suddenly disappeared, and the electricity was also cut off.
When Jeeva and Priya Bhavani Shankar come out to switch on the generator and re-enter the house, the lights are on in the opposite house. When the two go near the house with the idea of how the lights are on in the house where no one is there, they see the same things inside their house and there are people who look like them inside that house. Seeing this, both of them are shocked and wonder what is happening? Or is it real? They are confused that. They realize that something is about to happen and try to get out. But, they are unable to do so and many mysterious incidents keep happening around them. What is its background? It is ‘Block’ that says horror, mystery, thriller along with all kinds of emotions and science.
Although the story revolves around only two characters, director KG Balasubramani moves it interestingly with a strong screenplay. How about another couple like Jeeva – Priya Bhavani Shankar? , Which of the two pairs is real? The questions are the suspense of the film but keeping that one suspense, what happens next through the scenes of them traveling to different times? The audience is taken to the height of tension with anticipation.
They came to a house in a no-man’s land, there are two people like them, often going at different times, why is all this happening? As the film confuses some people, the black hole, the Super Moon and the research conducted at that place many years ago, which is said to be the cause, is a bit weak for the film.
Jeeva and Priya Bhavani Shankar, who play husband and wife, have portrayed all kinds of emotions beautifully in the scenes where they nervously face the chaotic events happening around them. Even though only two people travel throughout the film, they hold the film together in such a way that the audience does not get bored at any point.
Cinematographer Gokul Pinoy has shown two characters, one specific field, and specific incidents that happen repeatedly, but from different angles, and keeps the audience tense with the night scenes.
SamCS’s background score adds tremendous strength to the film.
For a very confusing plot, even though the screenplay is more confusing than that, the cinematographer Philomin Raj makes it understandable to the audience very elegantly.
All in all, this ‘Block’ goes beyond celebrating mystery, horror and thriller to make the audience think.
