Bharti Airtel Foundation launches ‘Bhar ti Airtel Scholarship Program’
An ambition to empower 4000 students with an outlay of ₹ 100+ cr annually

Scholarship will be provided to students with an annual family income not excee ding ₹ 8.5 lacs

Chennai, 16th July 2024: Bharti Airtel Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bh arti Enterprises, is commemorating its 2 5 years with the launch of a prestigious ‘Bharti Airtel Scholarship Program’. This merit-cum-means based Scholarship Pr ogram aims to support deserving studen ts from diverse socio-economic backgro unds with a focus on girl students, purs uing Technology-based Engineering UG and integrated programs (up to 5 years) in the top 50 National Institutional Rank ing Framework (NIRF) (Engineering) col leges, including IIT Madras, National Ins titute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, Vell ore Institute of Technology, Anna Unive rsity, S.R.M. Institute of Science and Tec hnology, Shanmugha Arts Science Techn ology & Research Academy, Kalasal ing am Academy of Research and Educa tio n, Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering and others. This will be appl icable to students eligible for admi ssion s in August 2024. Starting this year with 250 students, the Program is designed to scale up incrementally with its succe ssful implementation through each coh ort. The ambition is to expand reach to 4,000 scholars with an outlay of ₹ 100+ cr per year as the Program reaches its p eak.
The fully funded scholarship is envisage d to dissolve the financial barriers that h inder access to quality education for me ritorious students, especially from disad vantaged backgrounds. The scholarship will be provided to students with an ann ual family income not exceeding ₹ 8.5 la cs. The Bharti Airtel Scholarships will fo cus on UG and integrated courses in fiel ds of Electronics & Communication, Tel ecom, Information Technology, Comput er Sciences, Data Sciences, and Emergin g Technologies (AI, IoT, AR/VR, Machine Learning, Robotics) at the top 50 NIRF (Engineering) colleges.
Recipients of this scholarship will be kn own as ‘Bharti Scholars’. They will receiv e 100% of their college fees throughout the duration of their course and will also be given a laptop. Additionally, hostel an d mess fees shall be given to all eligible students who apply for it. With an under lying philosophy to ensure that the bene fits accrued through enabling access to quality higher education remain perenn ial, Bharti Scholars will be encouraged to support at least 1 student on a contin uous basis, voluntarily, once they gradu ate & are subsequently gainfully employ ed. This transformative, enduring initiat ive will shape lives and enable the youth to partake in the economic opportuniti es and growth of India.
