CLINICAL PRACTICE GUIDELINES IN ONCOLOGY
A three day, All-India Conference (2 days of virtual and 1 day of Physical)- Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology- was organized by Freedom From Cancer Relief and Research Foundation ( Dr. Anita Ramesh, CEO and Managing Trustee ) with a view to discuss, deliberate, debate and summarize the most significant developments and innovations in the field of Cancer Research pertaining to clinical trials and the resultant impact on Indian Clinical Practices besides analysing the current standard of care.
Several practising professionals from allied specialities and portfolios participated and shared their inputs while also receiving inputs from their counterparts with reference to the latest prevailing trends.
Panel discussions were held on specified topics moderated by experts with focus on key questions in that connect as also on the futuristic trends based on the data generated in the recent times.
Topics such as what’s New in Oncology, New Drugs, Immune Therapy, Targeted Drugs, Efficiency of the Drugs, Enhanced cost of drugs from MNCs, Cost Effective manufacture of Generic Drugs by Indian Companies at subsidized rates etc were discussed and deliberated threadbare.
Totally, about 10 Sessions –Roundtable Discussions based on case studies aimed at providing an opportunity for Health Practitioners to disseminate the practice changes data presented at 2021 Congress in the following tumour areas –Cancer in Lung, Brest, GI, GU, Melanoma, Head and Neck, Hematology, Ovarian and Precision Medicine.
About 10 key opinion leaders deliberated on the data pertaining to the Topic of the Session besides their related and relevant implications for practice.
The basic objective of the Trust is to help and inspire the Cancer Survivors with an intense care and focus besides spreading awareness, render services, sponsor treatment, therapies for the needy.
About 75 doctors from all over the country like Indian Institute of Medical Sciences, Adyar Cancer etc participated.
