Chennai / Assam– Daimler India Commercial Vehicles’ (DICV) dealer partner for BharatBenz Trucks and Buses in Assam- Abutani Trucking is helping its customers and the underprivileged people of the state during the COVID 19 pandemic. Abutani Trucking has taken a novel social initiative to support the worst affected and vulnerable segment of people in the region during the pandemic by delivering rations, groceries and protective items to the rural and poverty-stricken districts of Assam.
In order to ensure BharatBenz customer’s safety, Abutani Trucking also conducted free vehicle health check-ups under the Proserv Vehicle Health Campaign and sanitized customers’ vehicles in line with government guidelines.

The elderly, poor and the differently abled people, who were hit the hardest by COVID 19 were very happy to receive some respite thanks to the efforts of our team on ground. Many were not able to hold back their tears and gave the team their best wishes in return.”
As part of the initiative to provide proactive safety measures for customers that is in line with DICV’s major focus area during the pandemic, Abutani Trucking also organized a 15-day vehicle sanitization campaign. Adhering to Government and WHO guidelines, BharatBenz vehicles were sanitized in the workshop using state-of-the art diagnostic tools and equipment. More than 2600 BharatBenz vehicles were covered in Assam were covered during the campaign.
The health check-up and sanitization was done completely free of charge for the customer. Truck owners and drivers expressed their gratitude and happiness for the campaign as it ensured a smoother ride for their trucks and the sense of safety and protection. Truck drivers are essential part of the front-line as they deliver essential commodities to the community.
