CHENNAI, 13 November 2024: The Indi an Institute of Technology Madras (IITM ) and O.P. Jindal Global University (J GU) have entered into a noteworthy Memor ndum of Understanding (MoU) to collab orate on the development of S .A.M.V.I.D . (Smart Assistant for Museu m Visitors and Interactive Displays), a n innovative semi-humanoid guide rob ot designed f or the new established in dia’s First Con stitution Museum & T he Rights and Fre edoms Academy at J GU Campus in Soni pat, Haryana. This init iative aims to cele brate 75 years of the adoption of the Co nstitution of India. T he innovative effor t to develop a uniq ue robot is to enhanc e visitor engagem ent through advanced technology .
The Constitution Museum and The Rig hts & Freedoms Academy is an unparall eled initiative and a landmark institutu tion to be established in the annals of In dian constitutional history. The museum eum will be inaugurated and dedicate d to the nation on 26th November 2024 t o commemorate the 75th Anniversary o f the adoption of the Constitution of Ind ndia.
Towards this end, cutting edge technol ogy, AI driven interactive experiences, 3-D installations and progressive displ ays will be a key part of this novel muse eum, the first of its kind to be establish ed at any educational institution. The c ollaboration between the O.P. Jindal Gl obal University and the celebrated cent re for technical expertise at IIT M adras will bring to life an unpreceden nted exp erience to commemorate the most signi ficant document that defines India as a Republic.
The S.A.M.V.I.D. project will utilise adv anced language models making visitor r’s experience interactive, providing gu ided tours and detailed information abo ut the exhibits, including profiles o f eve ry member of the Constituent Assembly and their pivotal contributions to the Co nstitution. This collaboration signifies a significant step towards inte grating tec hnology into educational an d cultural experiences.
JGU is establishing India’s First Constit ution Museum to enrich the understan ding the Constitution with various sect ions highlighting its significance and t he historical debates that shaped its creati on. The museum will feature enga ging installations and interactive dis plays th at illuminate the journey of t he Constit ution over the past 75 years. The museu m will be a key destination for understa nding the Constitution, wi th sections de dicated to each part of t he document an d its significance. Thro ugh many forma ts—textual, audio-vis ual, experiential— the museum will ig nite visitors’ interest in the Constituti on, its evolution and its various compo nents.
The art featured in the museum, anticip ated to be a major attraction, will includ e both pieces from the original handcraf ted document and artworks inspirired b y the Constitution.
JGU’s partnership with IIT Madras will bring the latest in design, robotic appli cation, bespoke hardware systems and application of new technology towards creating a museum which brings history alive.

IIT Madras, oversees the implementati on of S.A.M.V.I.D. through its Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (OIE). The OIE is committed to nurturing ent repreneurial initiatives and fostering in novation through collaboration. The Ro botics centre at IIT Madras has a dedic ated team of scientists and exp erts who are pathbreakers in the field of ro botics and its application in medi cal, technical, underwater and teleope rated robots. T his will be unique proje ct where a tour g uide robot will be des igned for the Cons titution Museum at JGU.
