October 29th, 2024 – In a powerful display of support for stroke awareness, former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik joined forces with SIMS Hospitals to commemorate World Stroke Day. The event brought together a diverse group of individuals, including stroke survivors, healthcare professionals, and corporate teams, all united by a common goal: to raise awareness about stroke and inspire hope for recovery.
The highlight of the event was the thrilling ‘Strike Against Stroke’ cricket match, which saw corporate teams and healthcare professionals face off in a friendly yet competitive match. The “Strike Against Stroke” match was won by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), while Equitas Small Finance Bank and Brakes India came in first runner-up and second runner-up, respectively. The winner of the match was Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). This unique initiative aimed to promote physical activity and a healthy lifestyle, while also highlighting the importance of being active and physically fit to prevent stroke.
“It’s an honor to be a part of this initiative,” said Dinesh Karthik. “Stroke can have devastating consequences, but stroke can be avoided by maintaining a healthy level of physical activity and fitness. I urge everyone to adopt a healthy lifestyle and seek medical attention immediately if they experience any symptoms of stroke.”
