Honourable Ministers P.K. Sekar Babu & M. Mathiventhan and many actors grace the festive gathering of CTMA’s Aavanippoovarangu 2024
CTMA (Confederation of Tamil Nadu Malayalee Association), had recently organised the auspicious Aavanippoovarangu 2024 in Chennai. It’s a festival observed and celebrated, a week after special occasion of Onam. This year, a special initiative was planned and materialized for donating the funds raised through this event for victims, who lost their homes during Wayanad Landslide. Thiru P.K. Sekar Babu, Honourable Minister of Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowment, Govt. of Tamil Nadu), was the Chief Guest, Dr. M. Mathiventhan, Honourable Minister of Adi Dravidar Welfare, Govt. of Tamilnadu, was the Guest of Honour,Actors Mahat Raghavendra and Kalidas Jayaram was the celebrity guests.
Thiru P.K. Sekar Babu said, “This is a truly wonderful occasion to observe the unity in celebrating a cause that resonates deeply. A celebration becomes even more significant and impactful when it serves to assist those in need. I am delighted to learn that the funds generated through Aavanippoovarangu 2024 will be allocated to support the residents of Wayanad who have been displaced by the landslides. Initiatives like these are incredibly motivating, and I am pleased to see the event executed with such grace.”
Dr. M. Mathiventhan said, “I am delighted that the Aavanippoovarangu 2024 celebration has been organized with the noble intention of aiding the victims of the Wayanad Landslide. I extend my congratulations to the entire team responsible for this event and wish them continued success in their future endeavors.”
This 2-Day festive event was an exhilarating and heart-warming experience for the attendees with delicious Onam Sadhya, the traditional Tug of War among two groups, colorful pookaalam (Flowers) competition, grand dance, and comedy show along with many fun activities. Various awards were distributed as well during the event.
Sri V.C. Praveen, President CTMA, while thanking the chief guests, guests of honours and special guests for gracing the occasion, and making it more special, also heaped praises on the Tamil Nadu Goverment for ensuring safe and comfortable stay and live hood to the Malayali community in Tamil Nadu. He also thanked the Tamil Nadu goverment for rising to the occasion and stand first as a helping hand to the distressed people of Wayanad who were devastated by the land slides and torrential rains.
