“I’m always glad when my father and I connect through music” – says Shruthi Haasan

Shruti Haasan, the talented musician, stage singer, and acclaimed actress recently performed on stage, singing and dancing to the hit songs of her father, the iconic emblem of the Indian film industry – Kamal Haasan, at the music launch event of ‘Indian 2’.

Shruti Haasan captivated the audience with her rendition of her father’s popular songs and her performance with her music band lit up the star studded audio launch even further. She also shared a video on her Instagram page to share the moment with her followers.

In the video, Shruti Haasan is seen bowing down to touch Kamal Haasan’s feet, seeking his blessings, while he embraces her and reciprocates her affection.

Commenting on the event, Shruti Haasan said, “I am always honoured to perform any tribute to my father. My band and I had an amazing time selecting songs from my father’s iconic career and making a new medley out of them. We also had an incredible time performing for the amazing Chennai audience. I’m always glad when my father and I connect through music because a lot of who I am as a musician is because of his influence and support . The band and I love performing live and we will be doing many more live performances. “
In addition to Shruti Haasan, Anirudh Ravichander, as well as director Shankar’s son Arjith and daughter Aditi, also showcased their dancing skills on stage.

The film ‘Indian 2’ is scheduled to release in theaters on July 12 in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages. The movie is a sequel to the 1996 film ‘Indian’, and the third installment of the franchise is expected to be released later this year.

On the acting front, Shruthi Haasan has lined up a slew of amazing projects including Telugu movie Dacoit with Advi Shesh in a lead role, and many more in the pipeline. It’s worth mentioning that her recent indie release “Inimel” has garnered tremendous response.
