48TH RAISING DAY OF INDIAN COAST GUARD

VISIT OF SCHOOL CHILDREN TO COAST GUARD SHIPS ON THE OCCASION OF 48TH RAISING DAY OF INDIAN COAST GUARD

Indian Coast Guard, the Maritime Armed Force of the Union will be celebrating its 48th raising day on February 01, 2024. ICG was established by the Coast Guard Act, 1978 on February 01, 1977. This day is celebrated to highlight the great achievements and commemorate 47 years of glorious service to the nation.

As a part of a series of activities to commemorate the Raising Day, Coast Guard Region (East) organised visit of school children to Coast Guard ships at Chennai on 19 and 20 Jan 24. The purpose of the visit was to provide exposure to young students on the role of Indian Coast Guard and motivate them to Join the Armed Forces.

A total of 1,782 students alongwith 60 teaching staff from 13 Government schools and 02 private schools in Chennai visited Coast Guard ships Shaurya and Sujay on 19 and 20 Jan 2024. The students were taken around and explained about various aspects of the ship. The students were thrilled to visit the mighty white ships and learn about their capabilitoes
