India’s leading scientists, engineers, academia and investors decode India’s race to Net Zero at the Indian Climat e Leadership at IIT M Research Park
Chennai, 24 August 2023 – The pursuit of a sustainable future and India’s ambitious race to net-zero was at the f orefront at the Indian Climate Leadership converged in IIT Madras Research Park today. The Indian Climate Lea dership is an initiative of IndiaSpend and Environmental Defense India Foundation.
In a fireside chat with IndiaSpend’s founder Govindraj Ethiraj, Prof. Ashok Jhunjhunwala emphasized on the role of innovation and technology in achieving net-zero, the conversation centered the transformative potential of cl eantech innovations in bridging the gap between climate action and economic growth.
Hisham Mundol, Director, EDIF moderated the panel focusing on the role of Industry in India’s decarbonisation a genda. The panelists, including Deepa Sathiaram, En3 Sustainability, Dr. Shankar Venugopal, Mahindra & Mahin dra, Kartik Kumar, Saint Gobain Research India and Pradeep Thangappan, Aerostrovilos discussed the critical ro le of R&D in innovating cleantech solutions at scale.
The second panel moderated by Govindraj Ethiraj on Directing capital towards innovations for decarbonisation along with Anuradha Ramachandran, TVS Capital, Bruno Nguyen, Deputy Consul General of France, Manish Cho urasia, Tata CleanTech Capital and Vish Sahasranamam of Coimbatore Innovation and Business Incubator focuse d on the role of channeling financial resources into enterprises and innovations that contribute to India’s decarb onisation agenda.
