Movie Review-;

The list of people who have publicly spoken out against the caste system that has been entrenched in Indian so ciety for years goes on and on. The voice of the people oppressed by the injustice of caste is being heard a little louder in modern times than in the past. Although films with anti-caste ideas and stories have appeared in Tamil cinema for a long time, director Pa. Iranjith created many new debates through his movies by filming politics clo se to reality, which is not watered down in any way. As usual, his production includes various aspects like caste untouchability, sexual violence, father-daughter affection, pointing out that this society revolves only for the up per class.Velu (Yogi Babu) lives with his wife and little daughter in a village near Cuddalore. This Yogi Babu’s mo ther is not only a second generation because he belongs to a Scheduled Caste, Yogi Babu is treated with discrimi nation by his own upper class brother and in his hometown.

In this case, two men from his brother’s community sexually assault Yogi Babu’s daughter during the village festi val. When no one in the town is aware of this, Yogi Babu seeks the help of the police and the judiciary. The story of the film is whether he got justice in the end.Yogi Babu as Velu is not just a comedy.. Asathi has proved that he c an handle heavy roles in this film as well. It is noteworthy that he does not even smile in one scene. A woman bri ngs before our eyes the loving father of a child. Since it is a serious story, Yogi Babu, who shows a real father in hi s acting, does not cry at every opportunity, his face is full of poverty, his body language is desperate, and his laug hter is dry. Subatra as wife. The girl Smriti who plays the daughter has given a wonderful performance. Yogi Ba bu’s bond with him is delightful on screen. GM Kumar as the father, Aruldas as the brother, Jayachandran as the friend, Ramanyammal as the rock star have all done their assigned work well.

The courtroom scenes reflect the reality, albeit in the guise seen in many films. The director made them realize t he bitter truth that the court can only punish the criminals but cannot provide protection to the victims. He also said that the loophole in the law is beneficial to everyone. Especially the scene where Smt. speaks to the judge ge ts applause. All the places that emphasize the intimidation of those who are sexually assaulted in the name of ho nor and dignity, the need to recover from it, and the need for female education are telling.Just when you think th e film is over at one point, it continues to stretch for another climax and even more propaganda. In the end, Yog ibabu’s artificial approach has not stuck.The director has recorded that if the upper castes make a mistake, the la w and property will be on their side. Velu (Yogi Babu) lives with his wife and daughter in Allikuppam, a town in C uddalore district. His brother’s family lives in the same area.

But since Velu is the son of his father’s second marriage, Aruldas, the elder brother, is dealing with a separation. The main reason is that Velu’s mother belongs to a lower caste. Also, Aruldas is influential in politics.In this situ ation, suddenly during the temple festival, Velu goes in search of his daughter, Puppet Naiki, who is missing. The re two people try to molest the child.Seeing this, Velu chases them and takes the problem to his brother Aruldas. The perpetrators of this crime belonged to the Aruldas caste. How does Aruldas deal with this? How does Velu as a father get justice for his daughter? The rest of the story moves along with a realistic screenplay.Pa. As is alw ays the case in Ranjith’s productions, the director has created the screenplay with left-wing thinking as an ideolo gy, without the dialogues being prominent.Jeeva (Hari Krishnan), who comes from the leftist movement in the fil m, is a perfect choice for the story at some points.

GM who played Yogi Babu’s father. Kumar, Subatra who played the wife and Srimati the puppet heroine are fac es close to the heart.Some scenes are painstakingly created for comedy. They did not give much. At the same ti me, Yogi Babu has given a fine performance as a father who is saddened by his daughter’s condition.Although th e story revolves around how caste and power change a person, whether it’s a brother or sister, the film has not made much of an impact in the context of the increasing number of films and scenes related to the sexual abuse of girls in recent times.It would have been better if the director had given more attention and dialogues especia lly to the court scenes.Who is Bharat Mata when sexual assaults on girls are causing great tension? The puppete er’s answer to the question is thought provoking as well as clapping.
