Web Series Review -;

Veerapannai is a village with a rule that girls should be married within a few months of puberty. Abhinayasree, a n 8th grader, aspires to study well and become a doctor in an environment where no girl in the village can study beyond 9th grade due to this restriction. But when her friends tell her that her wish will not come true, Abhina y asree is determined to break the customs and restrictions of her village and move towards her goal. Did Abhina yashri study as he thought? Isn’t it? Has his activities changed the village? Isn’t it? “Ayali” has been said as a me ans of inculcating progressive thoughts not only for women who have been paralyzed by structures such as cul ture and old-time customs, but also for all those who have backward thinking.The story takes place in the 1990 s.

Although such restrictions were normal for women in that period, it has been very nicely told that women are oppressed in many ways even in the current 21st century. Although the story advocates female education, the screenplay and visual settings point out the grievances of the society as a whole and emphatically register that it needs to be eradicated. In particular, the director who has given a whip to the people who still live in the old fash ioned way of keeping female puberty as a ritual and formality, has made people understand how much a simple thing is made a big deal out of superstition and fools people. Such scenes and dialogues in the film are meant to change the minds of those steeped in superstition and to celebrate.

Abhinayasree, who is playing the role of Tamil Selvi, leaves a mark in our minds as a character who bravely tr av els towards her ambition and overcomes the obstacles that come in between with her child and succeeds con tinuously. He casually says “here” to those who are shocked to see the red color on his shirt and passes by, and he gets applause at places where he says “Ingunu Sonna Numbaranunga, Muttalunga”. Anumol, who plays the moth er of Tamilselvi, has acted in a way that reflects the women who hide their dreams and live to be a good wife to their husbands. All the questions from the one who is initially afraid of his daughter’s actions and then comes to the field in support of her.

Aruvi Madan, who plays the father of Tamil Selvi, has portrayed the male arrogance of oppressing women very elegantly, even though he plays a doting father, where he says that he should not think of changing his habits. Playing the role of a villain, Linka fits perfectly into any role and is amazing. He has shown very clearly through his role how to keep people under their control and do politics. The scenes of Singhambuli and DSR Srinivasa mu rthy playing the role of Vathiar make us laugh out loud. Moreover, even those who do not know how to smile will smile at the places where Singampuli Srinivasamurthy is performed. All the actors and actresses who have acted in the series like Gayathri, Lovelyn, Tara, Pragadishwaran have lived as village people.

An added strength of the series is that Lakshmi Priya Chandrameli and Bux Bhagwati’s special appearances are also eye-catching. Cinematographer Ramji, who has captured the Veerapannai village and its people very natu ra lly, takes the audience on a journey with the scenes. Although the songs in Reva’s music are not mind-blowing, the background music travels well with the story and adds strength to the visuals.Veena Mainthan, Sachin and Muthukumar have written the screenplay and dialogues.

A story centered on women’s education in 8 parts with a very interesting screenplay and moving it interestingly should be appreciated. Moreover, all the verses are rational thinking. Muthukumar, who has written and direct ed the story, although speaking in favor of women’s education, has also pointed out the problems happening in the society as a whole and has given solutions to them.Director Muthukumar, who has made people fear God an d thereby fooled them and skinned those who are looking for profit, has directed every part not only to make yo u think but also to laugh.All in all, ‘Ayali’ is a must watch web series for everyone.
