VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION CAMP ORGANISED

VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION CAMP ORGANISED  AT MILITARY HOSPITAL, CHENNAI

As a prelude to Army Day Parade-2023, a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was conducted on 24 Dec 2022 at Mi litary Hospital, Chennai under the aegis of Headquarters-Dakshin Bharat Area.  This noble event was inaugurat ed by Major General M Indrabalan, Chief of Staff, Headquarters-Dakshin Bharat Area. A large number of Army p ersonnel, families and civilians donated blood voluntarily, as it was an unique opportunity for the donors to serv e the nation to commemorate the mighty Indian Army. 

Being organized under the theme of ‘Donate Blood-Save Lives’, these blood donation camps are part of the vari ous other events being conducted by the Southern Command of Indian Army in the run up to the 75th Army Day on 15 Jan 23. The Indian Army intends to arrange 7,500 units of blood through voluntary donations and compile a data bank of 75,000 volunteers on that day, for blood donations. 

These camps are being organised, in addition to Chennai, in all major cities as well as remote areas in the Souther n Command Area of Responsibility viz., Mumbai, Pune, Panjim, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bhuj, Nashik, Ahmednagar, B hopal, Jhansi, Nasirabad, Secunderabad and Bengaluru. The blood donors will comprise a healthy mix of Army p ersonnel & their dependents, NCC Cadets, Civil Defence Employees, Army Public School teachers and volunteer s from all walks of life.
