INDIAN NAVY RESCUES 5 FISHERMEN OFF CUDDALORE
INS Baratang on a routine deployment in the South Bay of Bengal rescued five fishermen stranded off Cuddalore on Monday night. The naval ship spotted the disabled boat and distressed crew abo ut 10 Nm off the coast off C uddalore. The fishermen were found making frantic light and visual signals to draw attention for rescue. They were physically exhausted and required medical assistance which was immediately provided.
The ship approached the boat amid rough seas and safely emba rked the fishermen onboard. The disabled boat was secured to the ship and towed close to Cuddalore port where they were handed over to the Fisheries Dept.
