GRT- SHASUN JAIN COLLEGE -INTERNATIONAL FIDE RATING CHESS TOURNAMENT 2022
Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College for Women and GRT Jewellers are hosting the International FIDE Rating Chess Tournament 2022 on 22nd and 23rd July 2022 in the college premises. The program was inaugura ted on Friday, 22nd July 2022 at 9.00 a.m. The Chief Guests for the event were Mr. Ganesan.K, Secretary, Chenn ai District Chess Association & International Arbiter and Assistant Manager, Head Office, United India Insuran ce Company and Mr. M. A. Velayudham, Founder & Trainer, Bloom Chess Academy, Chennai. Our college Secre tary Smt. Usha Abhaya Srisrimal, Associate Secretary Dr. Harish L Metha, Principal Dr. Padmavathi.S and Vice Principal Dr. Rukmani S were also present for the inauguration.
Our Principal Dr. Padmavathi.S welcomed the gathering. She highlighted the involvement of the college in vari us sports activities and appreciated GRT Jewellers for their contribution of Rs. 5,00,000 for the cash prize for the tournament. The Chief Guest Mr. Ganesan.K spoke about the International Chess tournament and apprec iated the college for its efforts. He also spoke about Mr. M.A. Velayudham and mentioned his contribution in creating young chess champions. The program ended with the vote of thanks.
