WAKO INDIA National Kickboxing Training Camp – 2022 was held at Hindustan Institute of Technology & Scie nce Campus, Padur, Chennai, from 8th -17th April 2022.
Tamilnadu State Amateur Kickboxing Association (TNSKA) organized WAKO India National Kickboxing Training Camp 2022, to develop and promote Kickboxing as a serious sporting endeavour in the state of Tamil Nadu.
It was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister for Minorities Welfare and Non-Resident Tamils Welfare, Thiru. Gingee K.S. Masthan, Dr. Susan Marthandan, Director-Hindustan College of Arts & Science, Mr. Ashok G. Verghese, Dire ctor-Hindustan Group of Institutions (HGI), Dr Prateep V. Philip IPS, Former Director General of Police & Chair man – TNSKA, Mr. Santosh K Agarwal, WAKO INDIA-President, Mr. S. Kishore, Vice President-TNSKA, Mr. Sur esh Babu, General Secretary-TNSKA, and several dignitaries.
WAKO National Training Camp, which happened for the first time in Tamil Nadu was a Historical Event. This nat ional training camp was conducted by international coaches from Italy, Norway, Korean, and from many ot her places, was a large platform for all the participants, to exhibit their skills and realise their potential. It also help ed them to strategize their pathways for all their future events (national as well as international).
Approximately 300 players, coaches and many more from differe nt states, Union Territories, and paramilitary forces, participated in this training camp. WAKO India is the sole Country Member of the International
Federation: World Association of Kickboxing Organisations (WA KO IF). A strong Indian team will be prepared to participate in the upcoming Asian and World Championships, and the Sixth edition of the Asian Indoor Games (to be held in 2023), by selecting the country’s best players from this camp.
