– The oxygen generation plant costs INR 2.5 Cr and supports 200 beds

-India’s first ever 3D printed Doffing unit is built in a record time of 19 days in Tamil Nadu –

Chennai, India: Thiru. Ma Subramanian, Hon’ble Health Minister of Tamil Nadu inaugurated Oxygen generation plant (to support 200 beds) and a 3D printed Doffing Unit at Omandurar Medical College and Hospital in Chen nai, Tamil Nadu. He also virtually inaugurated the 3D printed doffing unit installed in Government Headquarters Hospital, Kanchipuram, and also virtually laid the foundation stone for the doffing unit coming up in Govern me nt Medical College and Hospital,Thiruvallur. These were donated by Saint-Gobain as part of its CoVid relief sup port. The Health Minister highly praised Saint-Gobain India for stepping up and complementing the efforts of the Government during these unprecedented testing times.

The Oxygen plant for Government Med ical College Hospital, Omandurar Chennai will cater around 200 beds at a time. This fully automated, state of the art plant costing INR 2.5 Crs has been airlifted from France with the support of the French Government and the French embassy in India. The company is also donating another plant, sourced locally from India costing INR 75 lakhs for IRT Hospital at Perundurai, Erode district.

Unveil of India’s first 3D printed doffing unit to support the frontline workers:

Saint-Gobain India creates history by setting up nation’s first 3D printed doffing unit in Tamil Nadu in association with TVASTA. The doffing unit will support frontline health workers more effectively in their self sanitization pr ocesses. It is equipped with a UV-C ste rilisation box, automatic sanitiser, soap dispensers, washbasin, W C, prov ision for disposal of PPE kits, and a shower area. The walls of the doffing unit are printed to ensure they are the rmally insulated to reduce the heat ingress. The doffing unit is spread across an area of 150 sq. ft. and is designed using advanced concrete 3D printing technology that saves time, energy, and cost. The advantage of 3D printed construction technology is that it is prefabricated, sustain a ble with zero waste, utilizing lesser raw materials.

The company is committed to supporting the state of Tamil Nadu with COVID relief aid worth INR 4.5 Cr com prising of oxygen generation plants, oxygen concentrators, doffing units, PPE kits and other vital medical eq uipment and supplies.
