324 Recruits Attested at the Madras Regiment Centre

On 30 May 2020, 324 recruits were attested at the historic drill ground of Shringesh Barracks. The recruits after 46 weeks of tough training could see their dreams come true when they wore olive green and marched past the prestigious enclosed drill square.
The Attestation Parade was reviewed by the Brigadier Rajeshwar Singh, Com ma ndant of The Madras Regi me nt al Centre, Wellington. While addressing the pa rade Reviewing Officer congratulated meritorious recruits and appreciated the instructors and staff for achieving highest standards of drill in the Attestation Parade and laud ed the effort of Madras Regiment Centre to train smart and eff ective soldiers under the prevailing pandemic sit uation and commended all sta keholders for their hardwork in this situation. He also congratulated the parents of the young soldiers in this moment of pride and glory, who could not witness the parade due to caveats imp osed by COVID 19. The Madras Regiment is the oldest Infantry Regiment of the Indian Army with its Regimental Centre at We llington.
