Chennai, 14 March 2025: In a pionering effort to highlight the importance of sle p health, Apollo Specialty Hospital, Van agaram organised India’s first sleep cha in at the Vanagaram junction today. This unique initiative, held to commemorate World Sleep Day 2025 and its theme “M ake Sleep Health a Priority,” brought tog ether doctors & nurses, to form a symbo lic chain while holding pillows inscribed with messages on the importance of sle ep.

With over 60% of Indians suffering from poor sleep quality, the sleep chain serve s as a powerful reminder that sleep is no t a luxury but a biological necessity. It al so seeks to raise awareness that poor sl eep is linked to heart disease, diabetes, weakened immunity and mental health disorders. It drives home the point that small but crucial lifestyle changes such a s consistent sleep schedules, reduced sc reen time and seeking medical help can help address sleep disorders.
