Movie Review -:
Lijomol Jose, who lives with her husban d Hari Krishnan in an apartment in Chen nai, thinks that her husband is being too affectionate towards her, but finds out t hrough her husband’s cell phone that he is in a relationship with another woman. Lijomol Jose, who is very angry at this, k ills her husband. Unfazed by seeing her husband die in a pool of blood, she hides the body in the refrigerator and starts d oing her work normally.
Meanwhile, the police, who have start e d an investigation based on the compla int filed by Hari Krishnan’s girlfriend to the police, have they found out what ha ppened to Hari Krishnan? Did Lijomol Jo se, who is roaming freely after killing he er husband, escape the clutches of the la w? Or not? ‘Gentlewoman’ tells the shoc king and surprising story.
Lijomol Jose, who plays the heroine of t he story, is upset like a normal woman w hen she learns about her husband’s mist stake, but the next moment she does so mething completely unexpected and lea aves the audience in awe. Although it is surprising for the viewers to go through each day without showing any anxiety a fter killing her husband, she handles it v ery normally through her performance and receives applause.
Hari Krishnan, who plays the hero, is a g ood boy with devotion to God and a fore head tattoo, but he has become a pranks ster to the point of saying, “You bastard …” when it comes to women. Although h e has fewer scenes, he has traveled the s tory line to the fullest.
Losliya, who plays the other heroine, ha s acted in a way that does justice to her character and has played the role of wo men who depend on men for protection perfectly.
Dharani, who plays Lijomol Jose’s young er sister, Rajiv Gandhi, who plays the po lice inspector, stunt master Sudesh, who plays the police joint commissioner, and Vairabalan, who plays the police consta ble, have all done their job well well.
Especially Rajiv Gandhi, who plays the p olice inspector, all the scenes where he e xpresses his affection for his hometown are bursting with laughter. Sudesh, who plays the assistant commissioner of poli ce, fits perfectly into the role of a high-ranking police officer and has acted well and threatened in a role that exposes th e sexual harassment that occurs in the p olice. If you give a break from stunt dire ction and focus on acting, you will defini tely get villain and character opportunit es.
Music by composer Govind Vasantha, th e songs are in a way that describes the s toryline. The background music has trav veled to add strength to the storyline. Al though cinematographer S. Kathavaray an shot most of the scenes inside the ap artment, he has neatly conveyed the me ntal struggles of the characters to the au dience.
Although there are a lot of dialogue sce nes, editor Ilayaraja Sekar has neatly edi ted the scenes in a way that creates the e xpectation of what will happen next in the audience.
Director Joshua Sethuraman, who has b ased the screenplay on a true crime inci dent, has designed the scenes in a way t hat justifies what the heroine did since she is the culprit.
Although he talks about feminism throu gh dialogues such as “No matter what le vel women go to, men keep them below them,” and has said it commercially with the crime suspense genre, director Josh ua Sethuraman, who has said it commer cially, has told what he wanted to say in a popular way and made people enjoy it, the lack of cinematic and believable de sign of his female characters weakens th e strength of the film a bit. Overall, the ‘g entlewoman’ is dishonest.
